Special Master to Trump's Lawyers: "You can't have your cake and eat it."

So the judge acting as the Special Master in the Trump stolen document case held a hearing today in Brooklyn. Before the hearing, the judge asked Trump's lawyers to be ready to disclose whether Trump had declassified any of the subject documents.

Trump's lawyers argued that they shouldn't have to disclose that, because doing so would force them to show the government a possible defense in a potential criminal case against Trump.

The special master said he understood that, but they'd have to live with the consequences of staying mum on the declassification issue--meaning, presumably, that the government would be able to continue using the 100 or so documents at issue in their ongoing criminal investigation.

Get ready for Trump to start whining about unfair treatment by the Special Master that his own lawyers requested! LOL

Trump's lawyer James Trusty advised during the hearing that he has a security clearance and ask that his co-counsel be given a security clearance.
Now riddle me this. If the documents have been declassified, why would Trump's lawyers need security clearances?
