People that are uneducated and inexperienced are often afraid of things they are not familiar with.
They justify their pathetic lack of knowledge or experience by trashing the opposite view.
I "love" experts that are not experts.  They've never done, experienced, or are are truly informed about something YET somehow have an opinion and know everything about it.  Hilarious.
I can think of numerous things or people I've encountered in my own life that the average American would have a completely wrong opinion of.  Hilarious.

When I went to school they didn't teach about the Bible or hetero relationships, that was up to the parents to decide. They got it right back in the day by sticking to the basics.

I wasn't wrong, I didn't go to school in Utah and religion wasn't mentioned at my schools.

As for the Bible being in school libraries, I don't have a problem with that. The parents and school board should decide what books should be in schools. Private Christian/Catholic schools have Bibles available.

What this boils down to is as usual.....extremists on one side or the other......that have the energy or funding to yell out on their soapboxes and hope they can influence people that can't think for themselves to be manipulated into thinking their way which can then sometimes result in getting more money or power for THEM.
