As an Army veteran and an American Legion member for over 35 years, I am very familiar with The U.S. Flag Code. While it is technically a federal law it is never enforced. It serves more as a recommendation on proper flag decorum and custom. If the code was strictly enforced, Benny Johnson's hero Donald Trump would have been taken to task a number of times.
