For over 20 years Justice Clarence Thomas was gifted with island-hopping on a super-yacht along with private jet rides around the world. One trip alone was estimated at $500,000.

Billionaire Harlan Crow buys property from Justice Clarence Thomas, in which Thomas' mother still lives in a house on one of the properties. Major improvements to the house were made.

A federal disclosure law passed after Watergate requires justices and other officials to disclose the details of most real estate sales over $1,000. Thomas never disclosed his sale of these  properties. Link

And now we learn that Leonard Leo, head of the Federalist Society and the driving force behind financing the right's push to get conservative judges in positions with life tenure, arranged for under-the-table monetary "gifts" to Thomas's election-denying wife, Ginni. Part of those arrangements included this request related to the paperwork: "No mention of Ginni, of course."

These extremists have no business being involved in deciding anything for the country, let alone issues before the Supreme Court.

Now-released forms reveal more trips gifted to Justice Clarence Thomas by Harlan Crow. Thomas released his 2022 financial disclosure form Thursday, providing new information about three trips last year on a private jet owned by billionaire Harlan Crow, a Thomas friend and GOP mega-donor. The Thomas report, and one from by Justice Samuel Alito, was filed three months after the seven other justices filed their disclosure forms, and after Thomas and Alito were granted extensions. But neither the Thomas nor Alito filings provided much information about benefits received in previous years.Link

The U.S. Supreme Court should adopt a binding code of ethics for its justices that is akin to the code of conduct the Judicial Conference of the United States adopted for other federal judges. Link
