Judge denies Mark Meadows, Trumps Chief of Staff, request to move his Georgia election subversion case to federal court.

U.S. District Judge Steve Jones in Atlanta wrote in a 49-page ruling that Meadows "has not met even the 'quite low' threshold" to move his case to federal court, noting that the question was whether the actions at issue were related to his role as a federal official.

"The evidence adduced at the hearing establishes that the actions at the heart of the State's charges against Meadows were taken on behalf of the Trump campaign with an ultimate goal of affecting state election activities and procedures," Jones wrote. "Meadows himself testified that working for the Trump campaign would be outside the scope of a White House Chief of Staff."

This will be huge if it's upheld on appeal. If Meadows or any of the other defendants succeed in getting their cases moved to federal court, Fani Willis would have to prosecute those cases in an unfamiliar forum. She'd have to hire lawyers who know federal criminal procedure way better than she does. She'd be at a disadvantage.

If she can keep the cases in state court, where she knows her way around, she'll be in much better shape.

Unlike the Federal, Court proceedings in Fulton County will be televised. The public gets to see firsthand what is unfolding. Harder for the Trump spin doctors to post lies on "Truth Social" and other platforms.
