Pay to play scheme, cash and gold bars were found in their home.
There goes the Democrat majority in the Senate.

Why? Trump is indicted on many charges and plans on being president. Not sure why this guy would lose his job.

Everything always comes back to Trump with you guys. smh

The reason why it leads back to con-man, predator Trump.  Well, he projects every crime he has done just like Hitler.  You can't be like Hitler and win.  Trump studied Hitler, who murdered millions.  He screams just like Hitler.  Birds of a feather flock together.

It's a serious question. There is no doubt that Trump is going to run for the highest office in the land, even with multiple indictments, and conservatives are ok with that.

Why is it that this guy is automatically seen as losing his seat over it? How are the cases different?

Romanticlover

If Menendez is convicted he will go to prison, kind of hard to serve in the Senate from prison.

First, Menendez comes from a strong Democratic district so losing the seat to a Republican is highly unlikely.

With respect to Trump, there is no whataboutism here. He like Trump needs to go to prison. If anything it shows a Justice Department that goes after Democrats when they break the law.

Hopefully there won't be a "cult" of Democrats that will support this guy in spite of him being indicted.

The full indictment can be read here: https://fantasysaloon.com/index.php?msg=15231

Oh the irony from Menendez...

"I'm talking about the entirely legitimate question of whether Donald Trump could be compromised by the Russian government."

Also Menendez was indicted in 2015 for the same thing, he was acquitted due to a hung jury.

I have to agree, the NJ governor is a Democrat so he will appoint another Democrat to fill his seat if he resigns or is convicted.

Can we say hypocrite? One of the areas is the Menendez bribery offenses for a range of corrupt acts, including using his influence over foreign affairs to benefit the authoritarian government of Egypt.

This corruption case against Bob Menendez is more "powerful" than previous charges brought against him that ended in a hung jury.Link

It makes perfect sense for a foreign government to buy influence from a U.S. Senator with cash, gold bars, and a Mercedes convertible. /s

And then consider that's just the stuff they found. Who knows what other transactions took place behind closed doors?

I wonder if the Senator will claim it's all a political witch-hunt.

WHO keeps $480,000 in cash at home? They found money in a safe, in boxes in the closet, and in envelopes in his suit jackets.

I'll tell you who keeps that much money at home: someone with something to hide, aka, a crook.

The NJ governor has asked Menendez to resign, so far he's only stepped down "temporarily" from being the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
