That is not unexpected. Everyone acknowledges that Trump has a stronghold on the MAGA base and will pull the majority of Republican primary voters. Yes, "which will open up the RNC donations to him." With his newly hand picked RNC leadership he can us that money for legal expenses.

... the American political system is broken. We need an Amendment regarding age of the POTUS. Neither Biden or Trump are mentally sound. Cap it at age 70, meaning you must be elected and take office (Jan 20th) before your 62nd birthday (assuming you serve two terms).

I'm older that both Trump and Biden. Yet, I would access my mental/cognitive abilities to be better than many younger political office holders. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Tommy Tuberville to name just two.  Further I outpace many of my fellow Republicans. Take a look at the many Jordan Kleeper interviews of Trump supporters.
