Played before my time, but watched some of his highlights over the years.

Loved his TV analysis of Candlestick Park during the 89 world series.

Glaucoma forced Mays to stop driving a car and playing golf after 2005.[281] In 2018, blind sportswriter Ed Lucas wrote that Mays had told him a "few years ago" that he had actually gone blind. However, James S. Hirsch wrote in The New York Times in 2021 on the occasion of his 90th birthday that his vision was merely "compromised" by glaucoma and that he was still able to watch games on television, albeit with difficulty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Mays (Note: Wikipedia not recognized source in academia)

Growing up with The Milwaukee Braves and hammering Hank Aaron, I always considered him the greatest of all time.  Was happy to see him end his career back in Milwaukee with the Brewers.

Mays and Aaron were both amazing players and happy to have seen them both play in person. Both dealt with racial issues and both were outstanding ambassadors of MLB
