Rich people: We are rich, but we need to be richer. Let's make it so we don't have to pay taxes, but, to support that, we make the poor pay more taxes!

Surely there's a happy medium somewhere between "the American dream" and accumulating billions. 

So how about this: You can have all the millions you want, up to a thousand of them. At that point, maybe it's time to tax you a bit more so some of it is sent back to the little people who made it all possible.

You liberals are always out for a free hand out... pure socialism! Top 50% of taxpayers pay over 97.7% of all income taxes while the bottom 50% income earners pay only 2.3%. Does that sound like a fair system? Maybe everyone should pay so they have skin in the game.

We're not talking about the top 50 percent of taxpayers or even the top 1 percent.

We're talking about the richest of the very rich. A mere 800 individuals have more wealth than the bottom 50 percent of Americans.

Why do you think that the government should decide what someone "needs"?  I really do not care of someone has more money that me, what drives me apeshit is when the market is interfered with and they income does not balance over time through market forces.  Whenever the government steps into fix something it makes it worse.

It would be great if "market forces" caused incomes to "balance out over time." Historically, however, that has never happened.

I am all in favor of taxing the billionaires.

My issue is everytime a politician opens his mouth he talks about the billionaire, but by the time the legislation is written it a tax on the middle class, as the numbers don't work...or the legislation is changed as the billionaires can make the politician donations and are carved out.  I.e: Gavin Newsome Bakery law: Panera Bread.
