So, we already knew that people on the far right are terrified of people who aren't like them, but I didn't know they were as stupid as they're showing themselves to be.

It's been reported that Trump's new goons at the FDA have purged from the agency's website information about demographic diversity in trials of drugs and medical devices. This is idiotic on several fronts, but especially because such information in clinical trials is needed to gain information about the effects on different population groups.

I suppose you could accuse God of being racist and sexist. Whether it seems fair or not there are differences in how diseases and treatments affect different demographics in the population.

You missed my point, but the Right's anti-DEI craze covers much, much more than employment. The Project 2025 document being followed by the Trump administration makes a weak tie between DEI and an alleged crisis in the American family and asserts that, to address this, American institutions must be transformed into "hard targets for woke culture warriors."

From the document, this transformation:

Starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity ("SOGI"), diversity, equity, and inclusion ("DEI"), gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights, and any other term used to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights out of every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists.

This is a "shoot first, ask questions later" approach that is already having unintended damaging consequences.

Not only that but trump banned all "external interactions" by the FDA.
A friend of mine was in a video conference with the FDA a few days ago and suddenly the screen went blank.
It was not a technical glitch.  It happened after that particular executive order was signed by trump....LOL.
This could also have a negative effect on clinical trials since interactions between the FDA and drug developers during clinical trials are generally thought to be useful because the FDA eventually approves drugs being developed by pharmaceutical companies.

This started during the inauguration. My daughter, who is partially deaf was watching a stream of the inauguration on the government's official channel. Part way through she reported the channel, which was for hard of hearing/deaf individuals just shut down. It was not a glitch as the entire area used to access it was removed from the website, and she also noted that all the disability pages on the White House's website were removed shortly after.

I mean, how petty is that to *literally* shut down access to a segment of the population DURING his inauguration speech???

Then again, Trump did the same thing with the Spanish version in 2017, saying it would come back. It didn't, until Biden took office.

Now the only ones to be hired are white males, even if they aren't qualified, just like all of Trumps cabinet picks. Putting a drunk, National Guard Major, who stole money from a veterans group in charge of a $1 billion budget.
