Quote from: Zep on Feb 01, 2025, 12:02 PMYa, Trump had 4 years to fix this problem but did NOTHING!  SMH!  Now he is back in charge and still hasn't done anything!  People are dying on his watch.  Can't blame Biden anymore.  (The Buck Stops Here)
Oh, he's done things. He imposed a government-wide hiring freeze but "forgot" to exclude air traffic controllers until he updated it yesterday. And the day before the crash, the air traffic controllers received an offer to resign with eight months' pay.

I'm not saying these actions had anything to do with the crash. That would be almost as reckless and irresponsible as blaming DEI initiatives. But it's not unreasonable to wonder if the controllers working that night were under even more stress than normal.

Trump has only been in office two weeks so no he isn't responsible for the mishap crash. Unqualified federal employees need to be weeded out.  When I worked for California Corrections we would say 100% of the work is done by 20% of the workers.  Unions force the government to keep lazy stupid people employed.  I know I saw this every day. I had a cousin who was air traffic controller in Oakland and was laid off by Reagan. Reagan gave them a choice, come to work or be played off.  I would have returned to work.

The only federal agency I experienced where all the workers cared about the mission and did their best work was when I worked for NASA Dryden Edward's.  All professionals.

What are you talking about!  His first term he could have done what you claim Biden didn't do.

So Trump shouldn't be held responsible during his first 4 years, but somehow Biden should be?   Can't have it both ways.  Yes Trump had 4 years to fix this.  He failed.
We all got two lives, the second one begins when you realize you only have one.

Oh stop it.  Waste of time to argue.  The election is over.  America by relecting Trump basically gave Trump a pardon for all his past deeds. You saying you had no idea what Trump would do if reelected that his words and actions are a surprise?  Trump was reelected legally and fairly and this time by public majority.  All far left and Democrats want to do is complain and cry over it.  Move on...make your voice heard at the next election.  Complaining now serves no purpose.  You can be 100% right and still lose.

Maybe Trump and his supporters will cause a lot of damage to our economy and government.  If this happens and I agree probably will and cost us a lot of money we learn not vote people like Trump into office and congress changes or up date laws to hold our leader accountable for their actions.

Could Trump destroy our county... No! I have faith in our constitution and is more powerful than any person including Trump.

Are you saying the crash was caused by unqualified employees? There's zero evidence of that, but that's exactly what Trump wants people to believe.

He and his minions at the podium, both Hegseth and Duffy, dutifully reiterated the implication that it was the result of a mistake by some DEI employee who wouldn't ever have been hired under Trump.

Then why are you here arguing?

Trump could not do many things his first term because he was learning the powers of the office and had to be careful and concerned about public opinion and relection in 2020. Biden been in politics forever and was never a strong leader.  This time around Trump will do and say what he wants and doesn't care about public opinion he can't run again.

Quote from: HighStepper on Jan 30, 2025, 11:59 AMOf course we have questions about what happened. What we don't want is a president that guesses, speculates, and pulls theories out of his ass.  The President of the United States has access to information and can cause investigation beyond our capabilities. We need facts, not bullshit from a pompous asshole.

Trump is also pushing the narrative that DEI as a cause for the crash. When ask what evidence he had, he answers he has no facts, but he has common sense. What kind of hideous monster says this in the midst of grieving families without any factual information?

My condolences to the families that lost their love ones. And may they find comfort and strength to survive the onslaught of using their tragedy for political purposes.

I consider myself pretty well-informed, but I sit out political discussions since I don't believe I am going to influence anyone. That said, I did want to make an addition to this thread:

Seems like a really classy family that deserves every American's condolences. May the pilot RIP

No, he can't run again under current law. But we know that Trump doesn't care about laws, and if he's still alive at the end of 2028, it would be foolish to think he'll leave office willingly. He'll do anything to hold onto power.

If Trump is successful in overturning the 14th you can bet that nasty little amendment that restricts him to only 2 terms will be next...
