"When ABC News correspondent Mola Lenghi and I started chasing these operations last week in Colorado – learning about them ahead of time through a variety of sources, including tips from law enforcement directly involved in the actions – they were heavily focused on suspected undocumented immigrants accused of illegal drug and gun trafficking.

But when our team arrived on scene at an apartment complex in southeast Denver Wednesday morning after the early-morning tip, we saw a different scene than what we are being told in public statements from ICE, DEA and similar law enforcement agencies. We watched as dozens of federal agents went door-to-door, questioning residents at every apartment in the massive complex, asking for identification and if they had drugs or guns inside their unit.

One woman gave me her video doorbell camera footage showing two agents, one of them wearing a vest that displayed Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) markings, knock on her door and ask if she had guns or drugs inside the house and if they could "come in and check." The woman answered no to each question before the agent said thank you and left for the next apartment.

The resident told us the agents did not present a warrant or explain why they were there.  Several residents with whom we spoke told us that the agents did not skip a single residence in the complex.

A few hours after reporting on Wednesday morning's operation, our ABC News team was denied access to a press briefing from Tim Lenzen, acting special agent in charge of Denver's HSI office. Only three local television news stations were allowed in. No reason was given for ABC News being barred from the briefing."

Good.  The law is the law.  No exceptions.

Right now the focus is on illegals known to carry illegal firearms.  ICE is making it known they are there.  What's wrong with that?  Has your rights been violated in any way?

No, the rights of the people who aren't illegals were violated. There was no cause to ask for their ID nor to ask to enter their homes to look for drugs.

You know, other than they were brown

Why can't they knock on doors or ask for ID?  Did they arrest anyone for not compling?  There are no laws says you can't knock on doors.  No law against asking for ID. No law in asking to search. No prevents only knocking on brown doors. It is illeagle to arrest someone without a warrant. Did they arrest anyone?  They are looking for illegals who are criminals.  You rather wait for these thugs kill someone before finding them and kicking them out of our country.

You want criminals and terrorists to be able to hide among legal law abiding neighborhoods like Hamas does in GAZA? I sure don't.

It's a shitty way for law enforcement to run an operation, but nothing in the story says anyone's rights were violated. Unfortunately, the cops can knock on doors and ask questions even if they're just fishing. The burden is on the resident to decline to answer.

ICE can't enter your home without a signed search warrant.

"Colorado authorizes police officers to lawfully demand certain information during traffic stops and when they reasonably suspect that you are about to commit or have already committed a crime. "

Going around knocking on every door does not qualify for the above as they have NO reasonable suspicion you are about to commit or have already committed a crime.

Apart from traffic stops, the can't demand anything from you without reasonable suspicion. But they can ask for it. The story you linked didn't indicate any cops demanded ID from residents.

I have no problem giving my ID upon request to Law Enforcement if they ask.  I have nothing to hide. If I lived in a neighborhood with gang members I would be happy and supportive of the effort to arrest them and remove them for my neighborhood would be safer.  The far left Dems don't want to show ID not even when voting.  Far left enables criminals to commit crimes and not punish them. I worked in prisons been around criminals of many notorious gangs.  I read their criminal files and they should have been executed for what they did.

They see my signature and compare it to the original every time I vote.
So how are going to show ID with mail in ballot?
