I have no doubt Trump will take out most if not all the drug cartels in Mexico. I believe the apprehension of criminal illegals and deportation has to be done first before any action against the drug cartels can be carried out. Drug cartels have thousands of traffickers and operatives that would retaliate here in the US so they must be taken out first. Once the threat of illegal immigrants retaliation is no longer a threat Trump will use the War Powers Act and probably take out the cartels all in the same day. Democrats say attacking the cartels in Mexico is a act of war. Maybe it is but nothing Mexico can do about it. So my prediction is once the criminal illegals are under control we will hear on the news Trump launched an attack and took out 20 major drug cartels. The main reason Trump declared drug cartels terrorist was done to give Trump the power legally to destroy them.

The major flaw in that is it does not remove demand which is where I think any war on drugs should start (here in the US). No demand would also eliminate cartels. So what if he takes out Mexican cartels.  All the others in most of the rest of Central and South America and the Caribbean will still exist.   People in Europe will still ship drugs to the US.  So.....are we just going to declare war on most of the world to stop drug usage in the US OR do something more effective at home????

In several countries I have been to the penalty for possession and distribution of harmful illegal drugs is DEATH.  Extreme by our standards but it works.  We want our freedom to do whatever so the price for that is a lot of drug addicts....or people that died from COVID because they did not want a vaccine.....or people that drink and drive then cause fatal car accidents.....etc.  God bless America I guess???

I could be wrong but this what believe will happen to the cartels.  And when Trump takes out the Mexico cartels he will go after others in Central and South America

Quote from: HighStepper on Feb 08, 2025, 08:27 PMIf Americans stop buying and using illict drugs, Mexico and Canada wouldn't have to worry about stopping drug trafficking accros their borders.......just sayin.

1919 the National Prohibition Act AKA the Volstead Act outlawed alcohol.
Prohibition failed to end alcohol consumption and was repealed 1933. Around 100 years ago heron, cocaine, marijuana, opium were legal in the U.S.
You would think we would have learned something.
  • Prohibitions  come about because some people what to control what other people are doing, instead of minding their own fucking business. The Women's Christian Temperance Union brought about Prohibition.
  • Anti drug use laws criminalizes people who would not otherwise be criminals. Outlawing supply does not remove demand.
  • The market principles of supply and demand puts the supply in the hands of criminals. (like Al Capone in Prohibiton)
  • Anti drug laws diverts law enforcement resources from other crimes. Takes a lot of investigation time to find out about drug exchanges.
For starters my advocacy would be to legalize all plant based drugs. Keep illegal man made chemical drugs. If cocaine had stayed legal then Methamphetamine  would not have take off like it did.

For all you Trumpers. So what is point in getting rid of the FDIC for our bank accounts?
569 banks failed in the USA, from 2001-now.

If Trump were asked this question, he'd say they never would have failed with him as president. lol
