End the war the same way George Washington did. Washington's leadership and strategic planning, along with the support of French forces, successfully ended the Revolutionary War.

We don't have access to the intelligence apparatus and the war scenario planners at the Pentagon. Thus, we can't layout specific military tactics and battlefield plans. However, as the POTUS we can clearly state our values that unprovoked attacks on another sovereign nation will not be tolerated. We will use all of the military resources at our disposal to support Ukraine in its God given right to beat back tyrannical invaders. We strengthen and support our alliances with other nations.

Quote from: Hobby on Feb 21, 2025, 01:59 PMI haven't heard Trump say he sides with Putin or he isn't going to support Ukraine if Putin doesn't agree to a reasonable agreement.
Reasonable to whom?

Today he said out loud. that he will keep blaming Biden for anything bad that happens even though he said wouldn't be his fault.

Brown's public support of Black Lives Matter after the police killing of George Floyd had made him fodder for the administration's wars against "wokeism" in the military. His ouster is the latest upheaval at the Pentagon, which plans to cut 5,400 civilian probationary workers starting next week and identify $50 billion in programs that could be cut next year to redirect those savings to fund Trump's priorities.

Trump just fired the ultra qualified African American Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and replaced him with this unqualified MAGA hat wearing sycophant named Dan Caine. Dan famously told Trump: "I love you, sir. I think you're great, sir. I'll kill for you, sir." Apparently this qualifies him for the top job in the US military.

"President Trump tonight began a purge of the senior ranks of the United States armed forces in an apparent effort to intimidate the military and create an officer corps personally loyal to him," the anti-Trump conservative wrote.

"None of this has anything to do with effectiveness, or 'lethality,' or promoting 'warfighters,' or any other buzzwords. It is praetorianism, plain and simple," Nichols concluded.

It's the president's choice who he wants and trust.  I'm sure anyone Trump chooses for military leadership will put our country first and not to special interest groups!

U.S. District Judge Adam Abelson in Baltimore granted a preliminary injunction blocking the administration from terminating or changing federal contracts they consider equity-related.

Abelson found that the orders likely carry constitutional violations, including against free-speech rights.

Pretty sure Trumps EO he put in place to stop DEI funding by the federal government was looked at by legal experts before Trump signed the order. I agree companies should not be subsidized with federal money to promote free speech.  Trumps team will appeal this and win.

He chooses people who will be loyal to him. That is not putting our country first. It's despotism.

If there are any legal experts left who won't compromise their principles in service of Trump, they wouldn't have anything to do with his EOs.

Besides, have you ever read any of his EOs? They're not exactly shining examples of legal scholarship.

Praetorianism means excessive or abusive political influence of the armed forces in a country. The word comes from the Roman Praetorian Guard, who became increasingly influential in the appointment of Roman emperors. In current times is is a type of militarism oriented to the interior life of a nation. It does not aspire to fight or win international wars. Instead the military seeks to maintain its influence in the domestic political system.  It will have control over decisions that could affect the interests of the military as a corporation. A key aim will be in supporting some particular political faction or party. Link

At first reading I thought this comment was a sarcastic jest, lol. However, anyone that might actually believe this:

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY – When Rome became a Republic
In early Republican politics there was a struggle between two main social classes:
  • Patricians - Comprised Rome's aristocracy holding most of the political power (Trump and the billionaire oligarchs).
  • Plebian Class - Made up of common citizens including farmers, artisans, and laborers. (Average American citizen).

THE ROMAN SENATE – Two main groups.
Optimates (loosely today's Republicans)
The Optimates consisted of a group of politicians who believed that the government should rest solely in the hands of the conservative elite. Optimates focused on upholding traditional Roman values. Cato, a fierce and long standing rival of Caesar, fell generally into the Optimates camp, as compared to Caesar, an outspoken Populare.

Populares (loosely today's Democrats)
Contrasting with the Optimates, the Populares were made up of a group of representatives who believed that the plebeians, the common people of Rome, deserved a significant say in governmental order.

According to Roman law and customs, no army was allowed to enter the city of Rome. This tradition was to maintain a clear distinction between the military and civilian spheres of Roman life, ensuring that the city remained a center of political, religious, and social activities without the influence of military power. Donald Trump seeks to change this.

It doesn't matter what his "legal experts" say, if a judge says it's illegal, it's illegal.

Judges make their ruling on their opinion and that's why a ruling can be appealed and overturned by a higher court. Cases like this the judges are not constitutional judges and is why cases that go before the Supreme Court the lower court ruling is over turned.  So I expect Trumps lawyer team knew there would be lower court rulings against them but once the case goes before the Supreme Court is where these attorneys expertise is and will win.
