Here you go making statements again without telling all...

"The gun restriction rule is a well-meaning policy that gets some things right, notably its support of federal efforts to improve detection of risky people who should not have legal access to guns. But despite its good intentions, what the policy actually does is take away the gun rights of a large category of individuals without any evidence that they pose a risk of harm to self or others, and without legal due process protections commensurate with abridging a constitutional right."
What research shows

"Research on the relationship between gun violence and mental illness shows that the vast majority of mentally ill individuals are not violent or suicidal. Our group at Duke University recently published a study of approximately 82,000 people diagnosed with serious mental illnesses in Florida between 2002 and 2011."

"We found that those with serious mental health disorders with records in the public behavioral health system were no more likely than the general adult population in Florida to use a gun to harm others, and they were only slightly more likely to die in a gun-related suicide. Thus, people with mental illnesses are no more dangerous to others when they have equal access to guns."

A large part of people crossing the border pay taxes and take jobs that average Americans don't want, and yet Republicans say that the policies which let them do so are bad because of the few that do bad things, so why is saying the policy that lets those mentally ill bad people get guns which they use to murder law abiding Americans not bad too?

You confuse those that come here legally getting a work permit or visa and go back home when the season is over and those that come in illegally knowing it is illegal to be here in the first place, they don't leave and they don't pay taxes. There are many different mental illnesses. some are crazy people and never have a gun.  To put all the mentally ill into one group and say they can't buy guns is the same stereotyping done to Blacks denying a right just because of color. Surprised you don't understand this...

Examples of dangerous conditions that are addressed when there is a political will to do so. There are many other examples from car seatbelts to motorcycle rider helmets that have been legislated.

As you well pointed out, mentally ill people with guns are not the major problem with respect to mass shootings.

When it comes to dealing with climate change, global inflation, armed conflicts, etc., the USA must work with other countries. However, with gun violence the USA has total control. There needs to be a political will to understand the root causes and take action.

For starters, NRA/Gun manufacturer lobbyist meeting in private with legislators should be prohibited. These interactions must be done in a public setting.

Why? The NRA is a huge organization around 5.5 million members strong. They represent American citizens who own and support the second amendment and you want to silence those voices of Americans... I would agree to having all interactions with legislators in open public if you agree this applies to all lobbying efforts by all Unions and Organizations who lobby.

I did NOT say anything about silencing their voices. Let their voices be heard PUBLICALLY.

Note "for starters." Appling this to ALL lobbyists would be a great goal. This could set a precedent. The energy is on gun violence and the public perception is that NRA/Gun manufacturer lobbyists are blocking solutions. Have to start where there is the energy.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/memorial-day-weekend-marked-dozen-mass-shootings-us-rcna31179

"The archive defines a mass shooting as an incident in which "four or more people are shot or killed, not including the shooter."

At least nine people were killed in the shootings, with more than 60 injured, according to the organization's data.

A preliminary count found that gun violence — not just mass shootings — left at least 156 people dead and 412 injured from 5 p.m. ET Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, the archive said."

But nope, no problem here with gun violence...

saying "sending Useless thoughts and prayers" sounds hateful to me! Just about as useless as Useless Biden showing up in Buffalo and Texas.... but won't take a trip to the border to see how his border policy has failed.

President Biden makes a great Consoler in Chief.
It's something he is good at base on his personal experience with the grief of loosing loved ones. It's an area in which he can be of value.
Dealing with the border is another story.

You assume that bumping my head leads to cognitive impairment. My experience is not the same as yours.
