I love the idea of an electric vehicle.

However not going to pay 80k for a car.

I just ordered a Toyota Camrey LE Hybrid that will get 55mph.

The deposit was $400, purchase price of $29K, and will be delivered with the next 300 days.

I will purchase an electric car when I can get 400 miles of range for the price of a toyota prius or Toyota Camery, electric cars will take over the world.

Just wait until you have to replace those Lithium batteries. You know there were electric cars before gas-powered cars and they had the same range problem.  Electric cars I don't see as the answer... I see alternative fuels as the answer.

CA budget details released.  No gas tax rebate included.  In fact CA is raising gas tax by 3 cents instead.

They are giving a diesel tax break starting on Oct 1 but not gasoline, total BS.
Rebate checks up to $1050 will be sent out starting on Oct 1 if you make under a certain income, again BS.

Here's how they will work, according to Palmer: ▪ Single filers making less than $75,000 a year will receive $350, while joint filers making less than $150,000, will receive $700. If they have at least one dependent, they will receive an additional $350. ▪ Single filers making between $75,001 and $125,000 will receive $250, while joint filers making between $150,001 and $250,000 will make $500. If they have at least one dependent, they will receive an additional $250. ▪ Single filers making between $125,001 and $250,000 will receive $200, while joint filers making between $250,001 and $500,000 will receive $400. If they have at least one dependent, they will receive an additional $200. An estimated 82% of beneficiaries are in the first category, according to Palmer, with 12% in the second category and 6% in the third.

Instead of simply doing away with the gasoline tax they decided on this convoluted rebate.

Like I said in the other thread: this state is run by a bunch of retards

Removing the tax would have no impact on the gas companies continuing to raise the price. As another poster pointed out, they are OBLIGATED to rip us off to maximize their profits, and removing the tax just gives them an incentive to raise the prices since they know we can pay it, right?

And that in a nutshell is why Democrats don't see any issues with raising taxes.  Because if we don't take your money the corporations will.

Then why are the idiots who run this state giving a tax holiday for diesel but not gasoline?

BTW: it has worked in other states because they pay less

Yes our gas tax is literally a dollar more than every other state's.

guess math isn't your strong suit, ca gas tax is 51.2 cents, the increase is tied to inflation

The more you raise taxes and the minimum wage the higher inflation gets, it's a vicious cycle that Democrats don't comprehend.

It'd be cool if people would substantiate claims like this. It's easy to express uninformed "opinions" on complex topics.
