I didn't say I was voting for Newsom. Last I check he's the one who's yet to relinquish his draconian authoritive power.  I understand Democrats don't consider it authoritarianism when they're the ones benefiting from it while the rest suffer.  It's always awesome when you get to benefit from the abuse of power when it doesn't affect you adversely like all Democrats do. Next, Democrats will start talking about how communism and socialism is so awesome that we should move towards it. And then have an struggling artist come and tell us that the true race are those of blonde hair and blue eyes and everyone will believe him because he himself is of dark hair.

One of the problems with the ignorance in this country is that so many people can't see or admit what's been happening with the modern Republican party. Or, worse, they actually support it.

Modern Republicans like DeSantis want to be free to impose their Christofascism on the entire country, and they've made a lot of progress toward that end. They're extremists who want to tell others what to do while insisting that nobody can tell them what to do.

Both sides may be bad, but they are not equally bad. It's amazing that people still don't see that in the era of Trumpism, but I suppose that's how these assholes are getting elected.

1. I've never talked about how awesome Democrats are, and I've never suggested that nothing bad would befall the country with them in charge. I don't know where you're getting that.

2. It's fiction to say the Democrats have control of Congress. They can do essentially nothing without 60 votes, and by the way, there are a couple of them who like to stand in the way of even the bare majority they do technically have.

They may own the house, but they keep getting locked out. When Republicans held the Whitehouse and Congress the same criticism was leveled at them that are now leveled at the Democrats.

One of the problems is the notion that casts all Democrats and all Republican in to just two buckets. There are progressive Democrats, moderate Democrats, and conservative Democrats. In the Republican Party there are progressive Republicans, moderate Republicans, and conservative Republicans.

So, to get this straight: You admit he is there visiting family. Not doing business, but a FAMILY visit.

The travel ban applies to using state funds. The Governor's travel is not being paid by the state. Connecting the two is an attempt at gotcha politics that is neither gotcha nor politics.

What law is he breaking? What is he being a hypocrite over? Again, the ban (which while he added states to, he actually wasn't the one to create the ban) is only for BUSINESS, not infringing on a citizen's right to travel. Did you think that the no business with other states meant YOU couldn't go to another state? He may be a Governor but he's also a citizen of the United States, able to travel where and when he wants to, right?
