The guy is 82 years old, they will fine him with a suspended jail sentence and that will be that... What they should do is take away his driver's license for the rest of his life... The only reason this became a story is it is Pelosi's husband... you or me we just pay a fine and maybe some time in jail and no one would care.

So true. My buddy got arrested a few years ago for dui. fine, license suspended for 6 months. He also had a choice of an ankle monitor and two weeks house arrest, or 5 days in county. Guy at Sherriff's Dept told him to go to jail, the reason being he'd be kept just one night. The day he went in, got processed, sat in a large holding area for an hour, and they released him. He was there less than two hours! This was San Joaquin county in 2017 or 18.

I'm not a big fan of Nancy but I admire her for going to Taiwan, we can't let hostile countries tell us what to do.
As for Paul Pelosi, his lawyer plead not guilty which is foolish because the sentence will be more harsh. He had a BAL of .082 and got in an accident. If he plead guilty he would of got a slap on the wrist.

Authorities said in the complaint that when asked for ID at the scene, Pelosi handed the officers both his license and an "11-99 Foundation" card. The foundation is the California Highway Patrol charity, which "provides emergency assistance to California Highway Patrol employees and scholarships to their children,"

To me this indicates that he did not want to take responsibility for his act and tried to weasel out of it.

It does not look like the collision would lead to a major law suit. So, pleading "no contest" which has the effect of a guilty plea, but cannot be used the same way as a guilty plea in a civil suit. Therefore, he should man up and say, "GUILTY YOUR HONOR."

it turns out Paul Pelosi Jr was "escorting" his mother Nancy on her trip to Asia, didn't mention he has ties to a Chinese tech firm though.
