CDC change the Covid death reporting back in 2020 to include any Covid related deaths.  My guess is they wanted to cast a wide net to collect all the data they could.  I said early on there would be revisions as the data was studied and digested. It is best to collect all the data you can than to only collect what you think you need. So even thought many conspiracist believe the numbers were inflated I just don't think this was the case at all.

All I know is that a lot of people died due to Covid infections.
