Even if that were to happen, Trump would have to hold his shares for six months before selling, which is an issue since he needs the cash now. Additionally, Trumpers may not grasp that the stock price of the shell company that would take Truth Social public is being driven up by nothing other than their own over-exuberance, and the price could tank on news that Trump was selling his shares. Thus, it's doubtful that Trump would ever be able to cash in, but either way, his supporters would be left holding the bag as usual.
So, yes, it's hilarious.

I assess stocks mainly by their financials. DJT made about $4M last year (pathetic), has about $80M in debt (way too high---very leveraged!) is far from profitable ($50M loss), and yet the market value is now $9B. That makes zero sense based on a fundamental value analysis. Based on revenue, I would not pay more than 15 cents per share (=$20M) for DJT (but then get saddled with $80M in debt) not the $70 it is currently at.....lol. 500x overpriced IMO. Does it have future potential? Will it grow into its current value? Well supposedly TMTG lost 50% of its users last year so that's not a good trend. Can it be sold or acquired for $10B+? Who would? Until it's profitable any acquisition would be a terrible investment.
There was a huge sell-off at the end of the day, take the money and run.
I wouldn't buy DJT either as a long-term investment.

The fate of DJT could be interesting. All SPACs are funded by the original investors (in DWAC in this case) at $10/share. Given that most SPACs eventually fall below that price after they identify an investment and merge with it, and given the horrible financial state of TMTC, whether DJT remains at ~$60/share may be a test of whether investors believe in DJT (and keep the stock price higher than $10) or just want their investment back (in which case selling may drive the price down to $10 or less). Usually selling shareholders (prior to merger) can't sell shares for 6 months. However the Board of Directors can change that. So contrary to what I see in the news, Trump could cash out soon although usually that is not a good look when the major shareholder is selling.
