Title: Biden Impeachment Inquiry
Post by: HighStepper on Sep 12, 2023, 10:02 AM
McCarthy directs House panel to open Biden impeachment inquiry (https://apnews.com/article/mccarthy-biden-impeachment-shutdown-house-republicans-b187202be8814f7acbdd6e2e937e23d4)

"These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption, and they warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives," McCarthy, R-Calif., said outside the speaker's office at the Capitol. "That's why today I am directing our House committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden."

After years of trying to link Biden when he was Vice President to Hunter Biden's business dealings they still have a "nothing burger." They have not been able to show any money connection or to verbalize what polices were influenced.

Donald Trump has been haranguing on his Truth Social platform how Republicans need to come to his aid and impeach Biden.

McCarthy probably does not have the votes to bring impeachment activity to the House Floor, so he assigned and inquiry to the House Oversight Committee.

It's too be expected.  Petty Politicians with petty parties and petty party members on both sides trying to get back at each other.  Notice how we see-saw on who gets impeached?  First Andrew Johnson(D), then Nixon(R)(Who resigned before getting impeached), Clinton(D), Trump(R), and now Biden(D)(TBD).  Petty politics at its finest instead of actually fixing any issues.  Of course you'll always have party line loyalist who'll defend their party to the death about how we're not as bad as so and so with cum on their face and their master's cock up their ass.

This impeachment inquiry will go nowhere in the House(and McCarthy knows it), they won't have enough votes.
This inquiry is to appease the MAGA Republicans in the House and Republicans at large.

McCarthy isn't stupid, he can now say at least he tried.

Yeah, that Nixon impeachment threat sure was petty, wasn't it? And those petty Democrats impeached Trump twice, once over his blatant attempt to extort a less powerful ally who desperately needed our aid and then over the tiny issue of attempting to overturn the lawful election results of 2020? How petty of them!

They need to open an investigation into McCarthy.  His brother Mark I worked with at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano told lots of scandalous stories about his lazy ass brother who didn't pay taxes... Now Kevin is worth over 100 million while his brother Mark is just an electrician making around 7500 per month... One thing I know they both have in common is they are liars..

So far there has been no proof of Joe doing anything illegal.  If Joe helped his son out of trouble I don't know any father that would not do the same given the same circumstances.

Could we get some actual sources for those figures? Not talking heads, but DOJ, serious news organizations, that kind of thing.

No evidence, according to Republicans. From a story on yahoo.com:

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) noted on Sunday that Republicans "don't have the evidence now" on the bribery claims but may find it later while Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.), in an opinion piece featured in The Washington Post, wrote that the GOP is relying on part of "an imagined history" and "fictitious version of events."

Serious answer: In any reasonable argument it is on the person who makes a claim to prove it, not on those it was told to. It's called the Burden of Proof.

One party has the burden of proof to show that they are correct, while the other party has no such burden and is presumed to be correct. The burden of proof requires a party to produce evidence to establish the truth of facts needed to satisfy all the required elements of the dispute.

Typically telling someone to look it up themselves is indicative of not having the proof and wanting to handwave it away.

I watched the first day of the inquiry and it was a circus, the Dems looked like clowns trying to divert attention to Trump. Having said that, the Reps didn't show much in the way of evidence and relied on "expert" testimony.

No one under oath was a witness to or directly involved in any of the allegations. Link (https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-hunter-house-republicans-impeachment-inquiry-f679eb1239cd4f7b5f06949cc1445567)
