IF both the amount and nature of the deduction
and the nature of the charity meet certain criteria.
Not as easy as it used to be.....

"A fool and his money are soon parted."

That goes for a donation to any candidate when you can't deduct it off of your taxes, if you donate to a charity you can really make a difference AND get a tax deduction.

The Biden campaign raised an astounding $90 million in March, bolstered by a major donation drive following the president's State of the Union address and a celebrity-packed fundraiser in New York City headlined by former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

One person's (or country's) thug is another's hostage or hero.  (re: Israel-Hamas)
Depends on your ideology although one would hope the law would be a better guide than ideology.
Some of Trump's "associates" (or are they co-conspirators?) were convicted and went to jail.
They were not kidnapped.

"One of the critical mistakes made in this campaign is that Donald Trump has now said, 'I'm going to pardon those people because they're hostages,'" Rove said in the interview, which aired Wednesday. "No, they're not. They're thugs."

Trump needs contributions so he can pay his legal fees...

Trump still needs to work to catch-up.

For Biden, March was also the campaign's best grassroots fundraising month. 1.6 million people have donated to the Democratic incumbent's re-election bid.I n total, Democrats reported having $192 million on hand, more than double the $93.1 million Republicans reported. Link

Biden's money will be spent on the campaign. How much fundraising money will be used on Trump's legal issues?
"Whoop there it is."

DJT stock price is now less than half ($37/share) its all time high price ($79/share).
My guess:
Probably headed to $10/share since the original investors paid that
(it's how all SPACs work) and may (?) want out before it crashes to $1/share (its true value based on revenue).
Very few SPAC type mergers retain value.  Many are crappy companies that can't have an IPO like normal.

Update:  DJT down another 5% today (4/10/24) to ~$34/share.
Update:  DJT down another 5% today (4/11/24) to ~$32/share.
Update:  DJT down another 3% today (4/12/24) to ~$31/share.
Update:  DJT closed at $26.61/share on 4/15/24.
