He said it last night in a rambling interview with Fox News host Mark Levin. So today, there were lots of news headlines about this because most of our news outlets suck.

It's just the way Trump speaks. He's usually incoherent, so you have to read between the lines. He meant that, in his mind, whatever actions he took to contest the results, he did so legally. That's not the same as saying he had a right to interfere with the election results. Obviously.

But I watched most of that interview, and he said some other things that got my attention. First, he claimed he considered nominating Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. According to Trump, "there were some people who thought that could unify the country."

Oh, sure. Totally believable. But it got even more ridiculous when he talked about why he eventually decided not to nominate Garland:

"I had a decision to make, and people would say, what's he doing, why's he doing it, and then I said, I wonder if they'd do it, and you know they wouldn't do it."

So, in this completely made up story, he claimed the reason he didn't nominate Garland was that a Democratic president wouldn't have nominated a conservative to the Court, so he decided not to nominate a liberal.

And if you believe that, you probably believe the rest of the bullshit that comes out of his mouth. lol

Trump raised the prospect in summer 2018, according to the book The Hill to Die On, but it was 'not clear how serious' he was. When McConnell was informed of Trump's thoughts he let out a belly laugh and said, "That would've been a tough sell." Link

I applaud your ability to make it through most of the interview. I had to bail after a few minutes.

Thanks for fact-checking me. The story sounded so absurd I couldn't imagine there being any truth to it, so I didn't even bother. My bad!

But the part about his reason for declining is still too rich to believe, along the lines of declassifying things by thinking about it. lol

Yeah well, Mitch McConnell couldn't believe it either, lol.

Hey Bats, I guess you tuned out before this one, lol
Former President Trump in an interview broadcast late Sunday slammed Vice President Harris as "vicious" and claimed her treatment of former Vice President Mike Pence during a debate was "horrible." Trump, speaking on Fox News's "Life, Liberty and Levin," pointed to the viral moment during the 2020 vice presidential debate when Harris rebuked Pence's interruption with the phrase, "Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking." Link

Donald Trump — after rioters who swarmed the Capitol began chanting "hang Mike Pence" — expressed support for hanging his vice president.

Which is more vicious?
"Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking." versus "Hang Mike Pence"

Same here... the stink from all the bullshit gets overwhelming. I try to hear him out but when I know he is making up shit or flat out lying I leave.

Interfer with an election? Nope no way anyone has the right to interfer especially the way Trump interfered.  Trump wanted to over through Biden to stay in power.  Candidates have the right to question but not interfer.

If questioned about his remarks, Trump would of course claim he wasn't admitting to any literal election interference.

But I forgot for a moment that Trump is, first and foremost, a propagandist. His incoherence is at least partly by design. He wants to implant in people's minds the idea that he had every right to interfere with the election. And the way to do that is to come right out and say it, but with plausible deniability that he should be taken literally.

I won't vote for Trump for the same reason I didn't vote for Hillary.  Both are dishonest and ruthless horrible people.  I would think others would feel as I do but they seem to only care more about defeating Democrats instead of insisting a president candidate be a upstanding role model for our kids.  What happened on J6 perhaps is not all Trump's fault but he was part of it and needs to be held accountable for his part in it.  What Trump did to the Kurds in Syria and J6 is reason enough not to trust him or vote for him. If Harris is elected our country won't be destroyed.  Our country is stronger than any one person.  What ever dems do can be undone in future election when Republicans have control.  So Harris wins I can live with it for 4 years.  I made it through Biden!
