"In his joke, Hinchcliffe, known for his comedy podcast Kill Tony, said: "There's a lot going on. I don't know if you know this but there's literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it's called Puerto Rico."

"In addition to his remark about Puerto Rico, the comedian also made a crude joke about Latinos in which he said "they love making babies too. Just know that. They do. They do. There's no pulling out. They don't do that. They come inside. Just like they did to our country."

The next day, Trump was in full damage control mode with his people saying the joke was made in poor taste and tried to distance itself from the material: https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4956915-trump-campaign-defends-comedy/

"It was a comedian who made a joke in poor taste," Leavitt said during an appearance on Fox News.

"Obviously, that joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or our campaign, and I think it is sad that the media will pick up on one joke that was made by a comedian, rather than the truth that were shared by the phenomenal list of speakers that we had."

There's only one problem: The Trump campaign knew about the material and signed off on it. They DID have a problem with part of what he said, but let the rest go.

"Campaign Staffers had asked all speakers to submit drafts of their speeches ahead of time - before they were loaded into the teleprompter - according to the aforementioned sources. Once the objectional "cunt" joke was spotted, sources say staffers asked him to strike it. He complied."

So, to sum up, Trump's staff knew about the above material and deemed it ok to be used. They vetted the material and decided that it was ok and if not could have talked with him about it, or not have it loaded into the teleprompter. Instead, they felt it properly represented what Trump stood for.

This shows that Trump, his staff believed it reflected Trump and his campaign.

What they didn't like was the fallout and the inevitable loss of millions of Latino votes, some he probably would have had if not for this blatant example of what Trump, his campaign, and followers actually think...

The jokes that used ethnicity had two fatal flaws. First, they weren't funny. Second, they were told by a white guy at a rally for a white supremacist.

That dog won't hunt.

Trump in the past called Puerto Rico a shit hole and wanted to trade Puerto Rico for another country.  Trump didn't know until he was told at the time he was president of Puerto Rico.

You cannot blame the comedian.
Tony Hinchcliffe is a comedian. Like a typical comedian he pushes the envelope with his jokes. His joke script was submitted to the Trump Campaign prior to the event for vetting. He had a joke calling Harris a Cunt. The Campaign wanted it scratched and Hinchliffe agreed.

Think about it. Why wouldn't a joke about calling Puerto Rico 'floating garbage" not catch a red flag from campaign staff when Donald Trump calls America the garbage can of the world. NOW the campaign is trying to distance itself from the comedian's joke.
Too much sex is still not enough.
