Because he's such a narcissist, the president-elect is already whining about flags being flown at half-staff (for President Carter) during his inauguration. Being sentenced for his campaign finance felonies should really piss him off.

House arrest for 5 seconds?
Community service as US President for the next 4 years?  (Not a sentence I'd want.)

From what I have read he is getting no Jail time . Maybe a fine which means we will be paying it.

It is only going to be a slap on the wrist.
Try to have a good time.

The judge indicated it would be less than that.

The judge said he's inclined to deliver an "unconditional discharge" sentence, meaning no jail time, probation, or fine. However, this would finalize Trump's convictions, which is important for the rule of law and respect for the jury's verdicts. Additionally, Trump can't appeal his convictions until he's been sentenced to this non-sentence.

Trump is required to appear, so I wonder if he'll make it a spectacle. Maybe he'll talk some shit about it at the inauguration. Either way, we get four years of crookedness and insanity.

If the judge imposes no fine or jail time Trump has nothing to appeal and will remain a convicted felon who can't legally own a gun and may also be restricted from other things.

On the contrary, until he is sentenced (even if the sentence is an unconditional discharge) he isn't legally able to appeal the conviction, since the conviction wouldn't be finalized.

He could still vote since he probably will not be in prison.
Can't serve on a jury but he may not want to.
Can't hold Florida office.  No governor or mayoral jobs in his future.
May not be able to get a visa to visit certain foreign countries (about 40 in total) but many of those are
places he may not want to go anyway.
Can't own a firearm.  he doesn't need one for personal protection.  He's good a ducking bullets.
May not be able to get some security clearances but he's not interested in daily briefings and does not think much of what the FBI, CIA, NSA, etc have to say anyway.

01/04/25 -Trump calls for New York judge to be disbarred after hush money conviction advances. The judge signaled there would be no punishment since Trump is becoming President.  Still, the president-elect continued to rail against Merchan, calling him a "totally out of control, Trump hating judge" and again called for him to be disbarred. Link

Trump's maniacal rant, consistent with "Trump being Trump" narcissistic behavior.  The judge gives him a deferential gift. The judge said since Trump has transitional dutes he does not need to appear in court.
Message to Donald Trump:
Hey asshole. Work on bringing down grocery prices like you promised. Nobody gives a fuck about your stupid legal issues.

I think the judge will do something that will make the conviction to stick to Trump forever so that Trump knows he is not above the law.

That may be the result, but I'd hope the judge is simply doing his duty to finalize the case.

As the judge noted in his "Decision and Order" the other day, he must deliver the sentence within a reasonable time following the verdict. Trump asked for and received a delay in sentencing until after the election.

The election is over, and Trump won. He can still appeal following sentencing, but Fox News "expert" Alan Dershowitz claimed on Friday that "any decent appellate court will reverse this conviction for a dozen different reasons."

Yet Trump is unwilling to accept even this punishment-free sentence without railing against the actors in the system that failed to hold him accountable. It's the way of the autocrat.

Actually, there are quite a few countries of note that Trump could no longer enter: https://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/donald-trump-felon-travel-38-countries

"Citing the World Population Review, Newsweek reported that G7 nations Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan have policies restricting entry to people with felony convictions.

Israel and China also enforced similar bans, and these rules can result in the denial of visas or entry permits to convicted felons"

Technically even the US denies entry to convicted felons...

From the referenced link, "Countries globally have strict entry requirements to protect residents and maintain national security." I would think there would be exceptions to travel ban if potential threat was mitigated. In any event, the ban will not be enforced against the President of the United states.
