Floyd should have gotten 20 years in prison for robbing a young pregnant woman at gunpoint in Texas. If he had he probably would still be sitting alive in a Texas prison and not dealing drugs or passing phony money that got him arrested.

If Chauvin had not been allowed to continue as a police officer for his past abuse of using neck restraints, then he would not have been involved with Floyd. He would not be facing 21 years in prison.

Floyd was convicted of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon for breaking into the pregnant woman's home to steal drugs and money. The fact that she had drugs is not the issue. How many years he didn't get is not the issue. The history of Floyd and Chauvin was not at issue.

It's what Chauvin did to Floyd that resulted in his death. Floyd's past criminal history is not a mitigating factor.
