"Mercedes-Benz will start building in the United States, and they have a little bit. But do you know what they really are? Assembly, like in South Carolina. But they build everything in Germany and then they assemble it here," Trump said.

"They get away with murder because they say, 'Oh yes, we're building cars.' They don't build cars. They take 'em out of a box, and they assemble 'em. We could have our child do it," Trump added.

It's nothing new.  Trump did not know foreign car companies have been doing this for decades.. I had a pinto that was assembled in Mexico.  I think Toyota or Honda had cars assembled in America.  He didn't complain then...probably has friends that own and make millions off the assembly plants.

I remember assembling car models when I was a kid and it was easy, they even had snap-together models(no glue required).

How can he say he's making America great again.  HIS America perhaps.
