Since Trump is saying he doesn't want to break up families, I'm just trying to suggest a legal way to do that. His stated plan of forcing families to choose one country or the other is against the law.

That's not how it works. The children who were born here are United States citizens. He can't deport them. It doesn't matter that some of them do it intentionally.

If he doesn't want to break up families, as he claims, then he should work with Congress to pass a law that grants some of the parents amnesty. His proposal to keep families together is unconstitutional.

Not that he gives a shit about the Constitution.

So, the children are, per the CONSTITUTION, US Citizens. Deporting US citizens would be against the law:

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

Parents are not.
Therefore you take care of the child.
Parents are illegal and get booted....
Therefore it is the parents choice, they leave and care for the child is by someone else or the family stays together and leaves the Country..

Family can stay together by leaving the Country...Not staying in the States.
You slap all the people in the face by coming here legally.
I know of no Country that would allow what you propose.

Let's say the child is a minor but old enough to decide whether they want to stay in the U.S. The parents are working, paying taxes, and are law-abiding. So you deport the parents, but the child is in the limbo of the child welfare system.

Is that a desirable outcome for anyone? Is taking such a hard line on this issue so important that we're willing to damage perfectly functional families irreparably?

That's not my problem. The problem has to be resolved by you and Mr. Trump, who are planning on kicking the parents out. This is not a liberal issue. He's the one who's doing this so he needs to come up with a resolution that is not illegal to do.

We need to build concentration camps for illegals.  There they can have their kids.  No medical for adult illegals and they must work.
