Roughly 40 percent of the convicted J6 idiots were sentenced to probation only.

By the way, remember when Trump said this to the entire country?:

The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy. To those who engage in the acts of violence and destruction, you do not represent our country. And to those who broke the law, you will pay.

Of course none of you guys responded to Biden pardoning his family of any future crimes.

Are you guys cool with that?
Are we having fun yet?

I'm not "cool" with it, but it doesn't come close to what Trump has done with the J6 criminals.

Additionally, the Biden pardons are at least somewhat understandable considering that Trump has repeatedly threatened vengeance against his political opponents despite there being zero credible evidence of wrongdoing by any of them. The only thing that makes them ripe for prosecution, in Trump's warped mind, is that they opposed him.

This is a really weak "whataboutism" as there is no equivalency here. The pardoning of convicted criminals that violently attacked police officers doing their job to protect members of Congress, versus pardoning people that Donald Trump vindictively promised to go after. These pardons were intended to prevent baseless politically motivated investigations by a Trump weaponized DOJ.

So to answer your question, I'm not cool with it. I'm also not cool with an abusive political environment to make such pardons necessary.

So Jill can go ahead and wipe out the Trump clan and she walks free??
We all got two lives, the second one begins when you realize you only have one.

Now that the Silk Road guy has been pardoned, in addition to the J6 criminals, we know a couple of things.

First, since the Supreme Court gave him absolute immunity for official acts, and because the pardon power so obviously falls within a president's "conclusive and preclusive" authority, he knows he can do this kind of shit as much as he wants, even if someone pays him off, and nothing can be done about it.

Second, Trump is making it known to everyone who supports him that they're off the hook for any federal crimes as long as their support is meaningful. In other words, laws aren't for Team Trump, they're for the rest of us suckers.

For those that don't remember the "Silk Road."

American cybercriminal named Ross William Ulbricht. Known online as Dread Pirate Roberts, Ulbricht ran a darknet market called the Silk Road from 2011 to 2013. The Silk Road was a digital bazaar for illegal goods and services.

FBI arrested Ulbricht on October 1, 2013. A judge sentenced Ulbricht to life in prison for drug trafficking, computer hacking, and money laundering in 2015. The Silk Road generated hundreds of millions of dollars in sales and more than $13 million dollars worth of Bitcoin in commissions. On November 3, 2020, law enforcement seized over $1 billion worth of digital currency from this case. Link

Libertarians, who prioritize small government and individual freedoms, were skeptical of Donald Trump and booed him repeatedly while he was addressing the Libertarian Party National Convention May 25, 2024. Link

"I just called the mother of Ross William Ulbricht to let her know that in honor of her and the Libertarian Movement, which supported me so strongly." President Trump fulfilled a campaign promise to Libertarian supporters on his second day back in office

"The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me." (note the timing of events)
