Clam Chowder

I found my mom's recipe for making clam chowder that was handed down from my great grandmother. When I was little we went to pismo all time from Visalia to go claiming.  Well my dad and older brothers did, I was too little so I watched.  They get their limits everything.  Dad would clean the clams and mom would make clam chowder.  Maybe I am biased but the clam chowder was the best I ever had.  What I make is good but not as good as mom and grandma made.  Could be the clams were always fresh from the ocean.

So your Grandfather made clam chowder too. So did mine . We also when to Pismo Beach. Grandfather knew some people that had a house there so we always had a place to stay. But I love the clam chowder he made while we were there. We even had clam strips too. Grandfather took some clam back to make it at home put it didn't taste the same.
