Gee, who could have thought that after abortion conservatives would start coming after other rights? Oh, that's right, everybody...

Marriage should be a states right issue since they are the ones who issue the marriage licenses.
I find it ironic that up until 2008 most Democrat politicians said marriage should be between a man and a woman:

Try that in a Muslim country and see what happens, they imprison and execute homosexuals.

Marriage is not a STATES right issue, it is a PEOPLES right issue, and the government should keep their nose out of it, which is what the current ruling says. By defining it as a state right, you are saying the few people in power (no, not the voters, as these laws will be made by the few, not the many and never come around for the general public to vote on) have the right to impose their views on the many people.

The fact that discrimination and hate exist in the world does not make it acceptable.

we don't live in Turkey.

Same sex marriage is illegal in most countries, just be lucky you live in this country and as with abortion...move to a state that allows it.

"states rights" Code for the elites to keep the status quo. And...states joined the "united states" but they don't have the right to succeed!

Ted Cruz is a pandering politician that has no firm principles.

Generally, marriages legally performed in a different country are also legally valid in the United States. So if a marriage is legal in Maine it would be legal in Texas. There is no argument about this when it is a man and woman. So, if a same sex marriage is legally performed in one state they are legally married no matter which state they go to. (my opinion)

Full Faith and Credit Clause, requires every state, as part of a single nation, to give a certain measure of respect to every other state's laws and institutions. A person with a California drivers license can legally drive in Texas.

It is no longer up to the states to determine if slavery will be permitted in its state.

That's because it's a constitutional amendment, good luck making same-sex marriage a US constitutional amendment.

In my opinion, no government entity (federal, state, local) should ever make any reference to a person's race, sex, sexual orientation, or religion. Doing so is unnecessary and is either discriminatory or could be interpreted in a way to be discriminatory.

A constitutional amendment along these lines is needed.

Nevertheless, in 2015 the Supreme Court said the Constitution requires the states to recognize same-sex marriages. Of course, that was before the fascist Republicans packed the court.

You'll get your wish soon enough, because the current sham of a court has shown they will happily toss stare decisis in the trash if it suits their ideological wet dreams.
