You have a product you want to bring to the marketplace. You provide advertising, a price, you get reviews, regular customers, a budget for expenses, and a bottom line. How is it not a business?

The question is not is Escorting a business or not, the question is what does it mean escorting is a business when people say it... what do they mean by it. You make escorting sound so impersonal when escorting is very personal!

I thought the question was clear enough...  What does this actually mean?

Lots of things, depending on the context!

But I think most often it's a nice way of saying "Hey!!!! Remember what's being sold is fantasy and a service. Nothing more is included."
When I get in the shower naked,  the shower gets turned on!

It means the provider has to actually make $$$!

Otherwise, the IRS will classify her "business as a hobby, and she will no longer be able to deduct "business expenses"! lmao!

Some time ago... ten-plus years? there were threads to teach providers to go legit. Occupation? Entertainer! pay taxes! earn Social Security quarters. 40 quarters a retirement check!

I tried to educate several providers but they were competing with many that did not pay taxes! And! well, the kids are hungry TODAY! I get it.

So go to the beach cast out a fishing line and hope you can hook and land a "whale!" (@ Tru, inside taunt)
or buy a lotto ticket!

I thought it was clear until you muddy things up with the follow up comments.
Perhaps there needs to be a clarification on what you mean by "escorting."
People hire escorts for their time and company. They pay escorts to accompany them on dates or social functions, or even just for conversation.
Escorting in California is legal. However, the person must be a licensed escort. Often they are booked through an escort agency or from an advertisement. Link

One could assume that the term escorting, that you hear all the time, depending upon where you are hearing it, is a euphemism for prostitution.

Too much sex is still not enough.
