The Democratic Party was originally a staunch defender of Southern slavery and was President Lincoln's main opposition. After the 1964 Civil Rights Act the Southern Democrats became Republicans. Knowledge is your friend. 

PragerU is not the most credible of sources. Anyway, a bullet point saying "It was Republicans who voted for the 1964 Civil Rights Act" is misleading of facts.
It erroneously leads one to think that Democrats did not vote for it.

President Lyndon B. Johnson, a Democrat, used a lot of his political influence to get the Civil Rights Act passed. Some called it his last miracle.
Given the strong opposition by the Southern Democrats, who later became Republicans, the bill would not have passed without the support of the Republican legislators.
