"Former President Trump suggested he will be arrested on Tuesday as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg appears to be close to deciding whether to charge him in the probe into a hush-money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election.

Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Saturday that "illegal leaks" indicate that "the far & away leading Republican candidate & former president of the United States of America, will be arrested on Tuesday of next week."

"Protest, take our nation back!" Trump continued, calling on supporters to protest his potential arrest.

The post comes as multiple recent signs appear to point to the grand jury Bragg organized being close to possibly filing charges against Trump."

The last time Trump used words like that, we had a traitorous mob invade our capitol...

A friend of mine wondered what are the chances they'll charge him as an adult.  :)

Trump paid hush money to a hooker/porn star, what crime did he commit?
She lost in civil court last year and was ordered to pay Trump's legal fees.

Even the Sunday morning talk shows were questioning what crimes Trump committed.

No matter how you feel about Trump, this is not a good thing.  To abuse the legal system for political purposes will have very negative consequences.

zoezane

I totally agree.  The word protest means let's go to war.  Many innocent lives are affected by this.  Make sure your protect yourself and the ones you love.

The civil suit last year involved a defamation claim. That has absolutely nothing to do with the potential criminal indictment in New York.

At least one crime reportedly being considered by the Manhattan DA is falsifying business records. That apparently happened when Trump signed checks to Cohen to reimburse him for payments to Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet. Trump stated the payments were for legal expenses when he knew damn well they were hush money payments.

That I agree with, proving he used campaign money to pay her off will be difficult.
The interfering in the GA election has more proof and is a Federal crime.

Multiple crimes: https://www.forbes.com/sites/nicholasreimann/2023/03/09/trump-expected-to-be-criminally-charged-in-new-york-report-says/?sh=5304bcea5d8b

"Prosecutors appear likely to argue the Trump Organization illegally reimbursed Cohen the $130,000 through identifying the payment as legal expenses—as falsifying business records is a misdemeanor offense in New York.

They may also argue the payment was a felony violation of campaign finance law since the cash to allegedly kill the story may have functioned as an illegal donation to help the Trump campaign, though that is the subject of legal debate."

Because he was running for President at the time, that could bump this up to violating Federal law.

It isn't just paying off an escort. It's using campaign funds to do so and lying about what the funds were used for. Both things are clear violations of the law.

they are waiting to put him IN cuff until he's in a debate with Pence

In other news, I read that the maga-minions donated millions to Trump since he "announced" his pending arrest. The guy is one helluva con-man.

Pence? I hardly doubt he runs for POTUS. He's too smart. He knows he'll never get the money donations it takes to run an effective campaign. He has no personality. He's about as exciting as white bread.

Fathernature69

The one person that has to be pissed is Ron DeSantis.

As soon as he thinks he is gaining momentum, Trump opens his mouth a d sucks all the oxygen out of the room.

This could also be a risk for the Dems.  If they focus all their attention on Trump Ron may go unscathed threw the campaign process.

No arrest no protest. How many got flimflammed by the Trump circus. A lot of dummies donated money based on Trump's bogus claim about being arrested.
