She claimed it happened in a dressing room in a busy department store but they didn't show any security camera footage or have any eye witnesses testify, there were three women who testified but only as character witnesses.
The jury didn't believe the rape allegation.

Trump has said he will appeal this verdict.

• The store wasn't busy. It was near closing time and practically empty, according to Carroll.
• The witnesses included two women Ms. Carroll told of the incident shortly after it happened; two other women testified that Trump had also assaulted them in that era.
• The jury didn't find that he raped her, but they believed she was sexually assaulted.

He's lying when he said he never met her, they met in the late 80's at a party when they were both married.
I think they dated for a while and he dumped her, she's been bitter about the breakup all these years and sued him.

I still believe he didn't assault or rape her.

So frivolous that a nine-person jury, picked by both Carroll's and Trump's lawyers, unanimously found him liable for the things she sued him for.

And where did you ever get the idea that no evidence is needed in civil cases? That's ridiculous. The burden of proof is lower, sure, because nobody's liberty or property is at stake, but there was enough evidence for the jury to find him liable after less than three hours of deliberations. lol
