Trump claims he brought down inflation and unemployment to record lows.  That's just not true.  In 2014 15 the economy was improving and unemployment and inflation was already declining when Trump took office. The 2018 stockmarket for the entire year gains was totally wiped out and again in 2020.  Had Trump inherited the economy that Obama and Biden inherited Trump would be bragging or taking credit.  Right now the stockmarket is setting record highs.  Inflation is dropping except for groceries and rent.  The housing market did explode under Trump but that was from the fed lowering interest rates not from anything Trump did.  I will give Trump credit on controlling the border.  Biden should have continued on with what Trump put in place.

Inflation was not down during Trump presidency, but was under control.

Here is an investopedia article on Inflation under past president. Jimmy Cater was the highest @9%.  Biden was third at 5%+. Trump was 1%.

Of course it was.  When a farmer plants a fruit tree you have to wait for the fruit to be produced.  You don't plant a tree and instantly get a bumber crop. Takes time.  Same with changes made to the economy takes time to see results.  The last year of Obama the housing market was strong. Inflation and unemployment was at a sharp decline.  Financial bottoming out with Trump in office taking all the credit.

Going all the way back to FDR and his "new deal". Inflation accelerated under LBJ and his "great society", in fact economists use 1966 as the starting point for modern inflation. Then we get to the failed Carter years when inflation was 9% and interest rates shot up to 21%. Then we arrive at today where Democrats are pushing $15 an hour nationwide which has been terrible here in Cali.

When Trump left the economy was hurt bad by covid.  When Biden took office he had to deal with all covid caused. Business shut down or went out of business.  Landlords not getting rent. On an on.  If Trump been reelected the economy would faced the same fall out from covid.  Dems poured trillion dollars into the economy so that we didn't go into another depression that could have destroyed everything. Other countries came out from covid in far worse shape than the US.  I won't citizens Biden like Trump does... Trump didn't have to deal with a collapsed economy as Obama and Biden did.  Sure things were more things were affordable when Trump was in office... but a lot has happened since that Trump would not been able to fix even though he claims he could.  I haven't heard him make any suggestions to fix things all I hear us how it would not have happened or who to blame...

Back on topic... Trump takes credit for something he had no real part in doing.

The only fast workers that get $20/hr are the ones that work at a cooperate owned locations. Most are franchises. Plus they have to have over 60 locations nation wide. As of Aug 20, 2024, the average hourly pay for a Mcdonalds Crew in California is $14.58 an hour.
