Trump's speeches are full of hate and fear. He is saying again if he loses the country is finished.  He uses scare tactics instead of facts. Looking at what Obama inherited from Bush and economy torn up it took 7 years to rebuild.  In Obamas last year in office inflation and unemployment was on a sharp decline of which Trump takes the credit for.  I just can't get over how stupid people are to support this moron.

Your comment sounds like the Joe Biden gaffe, the only garbage I see are Trump supporters. AND Trump comments about Jews, Blacks, etc. that vote for Harris are crazy. Kamala Harris says she strongly disagrees with criticism of people based on who they vote for.

We have people that participate in this forum that have or will vote for Trump, (like around half the country) calling them "stupid" is an attack on them.

I feel like a parrot but I'll say it again: neither side are angels, neither side is perfect.
When one side criticizes the other it's because they may not understand the reason behind their beliefs and vice versa.   Often those that support one side may not totally agree with that side but more so than with another side.  Lesser of two evils deal.
I travel a lot internationally and see lots of very different cultures, religions and political beliefs.  I was just in Mongolia where shamanism is quite common and widely believed.  I met a shaman.  That was a stretch for me to believe in to say the least!  I for sure often wonder why some people are the way they are.  It's simple.  It's because they grew up in a certain culture that is often quite different from ours.  I'm sure they think the same way about me.  Why do I believe in things different from them?  Americans tend to have a VERY arrogant viewpoint that everyone else should be like us.  However why shouldn't we be more like others?  What right do we have to dictate to others how to live?  What if others told us how to live?
This is why I try to stay in my lane and worry about myself these days.  What others do is none of my business unless it directly impacts me.

Yes, you make an excellent point. People are passionate in their beliefs/view and sometimes express them with acrimony. Attacking ideas and public figures in the news is fair game in this political forum. Even though it would be hoped that fervently held positions could be discussed in a civil manner.

I must apologize for being lax at times in carrying out my moderator duties.

I've been fascinated by why people are the way they are.
We are not born with any beliefs.
It's all imprinted on us as we live life.
So if anyone wants to understand why people think a certain way one needs to examine their lives.
Then sometimes you can understand it even if you do not agree with it.

I visited a village in Africa that does female genital mutilation.
They didn't just decide to do that for fun one day.
They didn't say "hey guys I'm bored so lets destroy some clits today".
There are very specific reasons within their culture why it is done.
It's slowly disappearing but even some women there still prefer to have it done.
Obviously most in the west would not allow that here but our culture is not the same.

I remember a documentary where the girl being interviewed said she wanted it done so that she could be a real woman. There are beliefs that we may have that seem obscured to those outside of our culture.

Whether by cultural tradition or by government imposition, homogeneity in behavior, values, traditions, and beliefs, brings about peace and harmony among the inhabitants of a country. For example In America we strongly believe in the value of Free Speech. However, there are countries where free speech is not valued. Speaking freely can cause dissension disturbing the harmonious order of things.

People vary in their ability to tolerate differences from their beliefs/traditions. It is as though a different belief is an attack on their belief. Perhaps it causes them to doubt their belief if confronted with alternatives.

No it's not a attack it's my opinion.  When Christians that proclaim their love for Jesus have thrown what Jesus has taught down the toilet are stupid.

Why are Christians supporting Trump a known liar conman? God gives each of us the freedom to make a choice.  God punishes those that make the wrong choice.

Expressing your opinion to say someone is stupid (lacks intelligence, an innate inability to learn) is an insult (personal attack). It is an attacking opinion that is best kept to yourself if we are to maintain civility. Because you lack the comprehension to understand why people believe what the believe, is that on your part "stupidity" or simply ignorance (lack of knowledge or information). One can be brilliant in intelligence and yet ignorant if they don't have sufficient information.

As to Christians proclaiming to love Jesus, yet do not follow his teachings, that is unfortunately widespread. Jesus' teachings were about love, compassion, and forgiveness. Jesus told his Disciples to carry the message. If the message was not received/wanted, knock the dust from your shoes and move on.

People may fail to follow the teachings of Jesus because of human frailties. One of the major forces in not following his teachings is due to organized religion. Religious leaders seeking power over people, misled both the stupid and the ignorant.  Seeing it as "stupid" lacks nuance. and history

There are many political power, self-serving, reasons why "Christians" have supported seemingly contrary positions, such as racial segregation for example.

As to Trump, Bats gave the explanation. https://fantasysaloon.com/index.php?msg=23490

It seems like you have specific beliefs about God. Other people have other specific beliefs. Or no beliefs.

Since this God has never shown up to tell all of you believers exactly what to believe, y'all are just going to have to agree to disagree. lol

Oh BUT some are convinced their beliefs are the correct ones!
It's faith-based though, not anything with any solid evidence.
