Trump's "Mandate"

Since winning the 2024 election, one of Trump's most significant lies is that he has a "mandate" based on his "landslide" victory. Last night, his incoming border czar, Stephen Miller, made these comments on Fox News:

  • We are here on the heels of a landslide like the world has never seen before!

  • President Trump winning this election has also won a mandate to fundamentally reform the DOJ, the FBI, and the entire national intelligence community!

In that WSJ column today by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, they claimed:

  • On Nov. 5, voters decisively elected Donald Trump with a mandate for sweeping change, and they deserve to get it.

But as the popular vote totals trickle in, it's clear that Trump will not even be able to claim he won a simple majority of the votes cast. That's not a landslide. If it indicates a mandate, it's the weakest mandate in memory.

Why are his followers okay with his constant lies? They might say that all politicians lie, and there's some truth to that. But Trump is the champion of all liars, and it's not even a close contest.

We know most of his voters believe his biggest lie--that the 2020 election was stolen from him. So maybe that's it. If they believe that claim, maybe they're dumb enough to believe all his bullshit claims.

You mean you believe some of his bullshit claims? If they're bullshit, why would you believe any of them?

First off all the politicians lie...Trump is a master of bull shit!  Yes Trump made world history. Trump was the first US President elected who was impeached twice and a convicted felon.  His supporters claim the felonies were all political.  Maybe so but the question is... did Trump commit the crimes.  Yes he did.  His supporters won't hold him accountable for any crime he committed or commits in the future. I knew we have stupid people in America...to be exact 76,705,154 idiots!

I am 100% one of those stupid idiot people.

Bats you got me suggesting that I think his claims are bullshit. Nope, I was acknowledging that you and the tolerant left love to say it's ALL bullshit. Why would I argue with people that call me names? But you're not going to silence me.

I just wanted to be clear that you don't win by talking shit about anyone that supports Trump's policies. You might declare yourself winners because you're in an echo chamber. But a bunch of idiots toppled your party in the last election and constantly calling us stupid and idiots, well isn't very inclusive of you. LOL

It doesn't say much about the guy you voted for when your defense of him is that you don't believe ALL his claims are bullshit.

I just fed you some bs being that it's plausible that something Trump has said is invalid or wrong. I don't blindly believe EVERYTHING he's ever said... nor do I believe anyone is anywhere near perfect. You keep pointing out little flaws and hope it wins your argument.  Good luck with that.

Now you're saying it's possible that SOMETHING he has said might be "invalid or wrong?"

Do you believe the 2020 election was stolen from him? Do you believe he won the 2024 election in "a landslide like the world has never seen before?"

What about the size of the crowd at his inauguration in 2017? The "perfect phone call" with Zelensky?"

I could go all day with his lies, and your response is, "Oh well, nobody's perfect." Give me a break.
