The New York Times tonight published the text of a rather disparaging email sent in 2018 to Pete Hegseth, the man Donald Trump has announced as his nominee for Secretary of Defense. The email was from...*checks notes*...his mom.

The article highlighted a portion of the email as follows:

"On behalf of all the women (and I know it's many) you have abused in some way, I say ... get some help and take an honest look at yourself.

"I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around and uses women for his own power and ego. You are that man (and have been for years) and as your mother, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that, but it is the sad, sad truth."

Pete's mom told the Times she regretted the email and said it was "disgusting" that it was published.

Of course, it's difficult to know whether this will hurt Hegseth's chances or help them in MAGA World. lol

Not going to make a bit of difference.  Look at Trump. Trump grabbed pussys, fondles boobs, rape a woman in a dressing room, and fucked a porn star. Trump said you don't need permission  when you are rich and powerful. I guess he is right...no one cares.

This should not come as a surprise. Having engaged in some type of criminal behavior seems like one of the requirements for a job in the Trump administration..
Too much sex is still not enough.

Yep.  Trump will appoint people he has dirt on so they stay loyal and do as they are told.  Appointing those he had no dirt on was the mistake Trump made in his first term. Had he had dirt on Pence you can bet Pence would not have accepted the state electoral votes. This time around there will lots of drama better entertainment than anything Hollywood can create.

It's going to be a shit show. Pam Bondi, his AG pick, went on TV to push the stolen election conspiracy theory. Tonight he announced that loyalist and election denier Kash Patel will head the FBI, which means he's already planning to fire Christopher Wray, because of course he's planning that.

The thing is, when these people start their little show trials, they won't have any evidence. They never do. But innuendo qualifies as evidence in delusional MAGA Land, which is why we have so many people who believe Trump's bullshit.

I really hope it starts to backfire on them in time for the midterms.

Speaking of which, Trump has now announced that he will name Charles Kushner (Jared's dad) as the American ambassador to France. Mr. Kushner is a convicted felon, having pled guilty some years ago to 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering.

The witness tampering involved hiring two prostitutes to seduce his sister's brother and sharing videotapes of the encounters with the sister. This was Kushner's way of retaliating against his brother-in-law for cooperating with investigators, so he's a real class act.

Naturally, Trump pardoned the elder Kushner during his first term, and Kushner has donated to Trump's presidential campaigns.

It's all quite normal. lol

I don't think Christopher Wray wants to work for Trump. Probably will resign prior to Trump taking office again.

You'd think so, but it might be in Wray's financial and legal interest to wait until he's fired rather than resign. Also, if it were me, I think I might want to make President Dickhead fire me just on principle.
