A part of me wishes he'd kept his word because it would be nice if a politician's word meant something for a change. But I understand. It's his child, for God's sake. How could he not?

Of course he did I had no doubt about it.  Joe lost his first wife and daughter in auto accident.  His son Beau had an outstanding career and a very good person but his life was cut short. I think any dad having the ability to keep his son out of prison would do so... I know I would.

Maybe Hunter will clean up his act and do better by his father.  I hope he realizes the mistakes he made.

Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department's decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.....

...The charges in his cases came about only after several of my political opponents in Congress instigated them to attack me and oppose my election.....

...No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter's cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong. The White House

EDIT to add:
Given the facts and situation Biden's pardon corrects a gross injustice. That is a good reason for a pardon,

Trump pardoned his family member, Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. This was not a pardon to correct a gross injustice.

The American public did not hold that act against Trump, so why should the American public hold it against Biden.

Too much sex is still not enough.

I agree with this, but Biden shouldn't have answered with a flat "No" when asked directly about it. I don't know what he should have said instead, but I don't have a staff of advisors to help me. Lol

Probably the worst thing Biden has done is not controlling the southern border.  Not controlling the border is by far worse than saying he would not pardon and did...

At the time Biden was asked Biden was running for reelection and didn't want to lose votes he needed. If Biden had been reelected he would pardon his son.  I think everyone pretty much expected Biden would pardon his son and I think most people really don't care he did.  Children good or bad are the most important to a parent.

This alone will allow Trump to pardon every criminal convicted of storming our Capital.   Not unexpected but opens the door for mass pardons.   How many times will we hear after each Trump
pardon, "Look what Biden did"
We all got two lives, the second one begins when you realize you only have one.

The irony in this comment considering who you support is rich indeed.

Of course he'll say that, but I don't think it will make any difference. That's because Trump doesn't rely on any particular excuse for wrongdoing. He uses a firehose of excuses and lies to pollute the minds of his supporters.

Like Trump claimed that Biden weaponized the DOJ to come after him. Biden stayed out of it. The feckless Attorney General, Merrick Garlan with his slow ass to bring the cases against Trump in a timely manner. The indictments against Trump should have been made and resolved, one way or another, by the end of 2023.

That is your opinion and you are welcome to be glad that he is gone, as do many. As to him being the "worst" president, nothing could be further from the truth. This has been discussed numerous times in this forum with historical links.

This doesn't surprise me because Biden is a career politician who has lied ever since he told the draft board that he had asthma, he will go down in the history books as the worst President ever.
Are we having fun yet?

The criminal trials and sentences should continue despite Trump's reelection. This country was founded on judicial principles to establish justice holding the guilty accountable for their crime.

And no Biden is not the worst president.  IMO Trump is the worst!

I think Biden should have stepped down for medical reasons making Harris president. Harris would have became president without winning a election.  Republican talking heads claim after Biden embarrassed the party during the debate top democrats forced Biden to step out of the race. I doubt Democrats could force a president to do their bidding.

Totally predictable dick move from the criminal in charge.  Trump's turn...should be good, but on such a different level.

Ok guys, your turn.
