That's what he told Kristin Welker on NBC's Meet the Press today. He described how the flow of people and drugs across the southern border slowed to a trickle within ten minutes of him threatening the Mexican president with tariffs if they didn't stop the migrants.

How did he know that the crossings had come to a halt? Here's Trump, according to the transcript:

"I called the border. See, unlike my opponent, I do call the border a lot. And I said, 'How's the border looking today?' They said, 'There's nobody here.' They couldn't believe it."

The guy is a miracle worker.

There was plenty of the usual Trump bullshit, which the host allowed him to spew virtually unchallenged for a solid hour. From childhood vaccines possibly causing autism to overturning the part of the 14th amendment having to do with birthright citizenship, Trump yet again succeeded in flooding the zone with so much shit that you can't even list it in one place without getting dizzy.

Trump is a brilliant conman and entertainer. Perhaps we do need a good conman to stop the illegals and drugs from entering.  Trump will be president for four years and I will support him.  Perhaps he will stop the wars and get Iran under control.  This is wait and see.

What's likely to happen is more of what happened in his first term. Once he gets into the White House, we'll no longer be a failing country because he'll be making us great again. *cough*

I can't support him because he doesn't represent the American people. He represents himself.

He's an autocrat who will try to neuter as much of American democracy as he can so that he alone controls the levers of power.

I don't think he'll be wildly successful in his efforts to rule as a dictator. We still have some checks left, although the Supreme Court seems willing to step out of his way.

At least Trump will do something to reduce the tide of poor uneducated people(many are criminals), Biden hasn't done anything. Biden and Harris are worthless and will be out of office next month.
Are we having fun yet?

He might do something, but the odds are high that he'll fuck things up because he doesn't give a shit about laws. (For his core supporters, this is a feature, not a bug.)

So, for example, one of the many idiotic things he said in the Sunday interview was that he might have to deport lawful citizens because he doesn't want to break up families.

Seriously. He said that if children who were born here want to stay with their parents who weren't born here, then all of them must go, but it's their option! LOL

Danno

guess his family has to leave the country.

I think Trump will be fair.  If the illegal has been here for a long time has children born here a job and no criminal history they will be allowed to stay and apply for residence.  Trump is going to start with those with criminal history to be deported first.

I've seen this nonsense elsewhere on social media. It demonstrates a basic misunderstanding of the 14th Amendment.

The 14th Amendment guarantees citizenship at birth to any person born on U.S. soil. That's one way to become a citizen at birth, and it's the one Trump would like to abolish.

The other way to become a citizen at birth is to be born abroad to a United States citizen. I don't even know if Trump's kids were born abroad, but if they were, they'd be U.S. citizens by virtue of Trump's status as a U.S. citizen.

I will tell you 1st hand once Trump was elected the Border traffic slowed. For the last 4 years there were many staged waiting for the opportunity to cross.
Once Trump was elected these people disappeared.

Danno, LMAO, keep believing the lies. The border has been wide open for the last 4 years.

And what do you propose we do with the parents who happen to not be citizens? Therefore my opinion that should be abolished.
A child has no way to sustain themselves.

Rather than punish the children by ripping their parents away, how about we provide a program that grants amnesty to parents who meet specific requirements?
