President Trump through EO order the Army Core of Enineers to release water in California to fight wildfires fires.  This is really good LA needs all the water it can get.  Only problem is the two resivors opened Kaweah Lake and Success Lake in Tulare county none of that water can ever reach Southern California.  No aqueduct system or canels.  The water stored is for irrigation in Tulare County. I doubt Trump was informed any of this.  The water will flow west out to the Tulare Lake... it is huge waste of water.

The only reason Trump ordered this release was so he could tell his people that he released some water in California. Most of his supporters outside California have no idea how large the state is or how complex our water systems are. So Trump orders a big release and tweets about it, and they think he did a good thing.

You think he wasn't informed? I think he was informed but said do it anyway. He doesn't care.

Now that these reservoirs are emptied of all the winter runoff, what will the central valley farmers use to irrigate their crops all summer?

If this water really was released, I wonder if all the farmers (many Republicans) were told of this plan?
We all got two lives, the second one begins when you realize you only have one.

Nope they weren't told and are furious.  No they won't empty the resivors but there could be a water shortage this summer

My wife worked for many years at the highest planning levels of this state's complicated water system.  She is devastated.

He blatantly shows that he's fucking dumber and mentally more lazy than a failing 3rd grader.  Sadly there are  too many people in this country obviously just as dumb and mentally lazy as he is.  So he gets away with it.  He's been getting increasingly (geometrically, not linearly) more unhinged over the past 10 years.  It kills me to say that I have little hope for this country surviving the disaster that will be worse than the 30's depression and WWII combined.  And which will go on longer.  "You can't make this stuff up" is not a joke and not hyperbolic, it is factually the truth.  The Dems are looking mighty weak and helpless.

After 10 years of this insanity, trying to laugh at Colbert and Kimmel now is like being one of the staff standing on the deck of the Titanic, listening to the orchestra play as you watch the last life boat being launched and floating away.  And knowing that the nearest ship is hours away.

Well, at least most of us enjoyed the previous 70 plus years of middle class comfort if not affluence.

It was stupid.  I don't think it was Trump's idea to release the water but he sure took credit for it.  My guess is it was Devin Nunez former congressman of that District and now Trump's CEO of Trump media told him to do this.  Back in 2018 Nunez was fighting for the Westside farmers to diverted water from Northern California to the Westside farmers.  Trump visited landing in Fresno and along with Nunez drove down the 99 to the Tulare Ag Center.  Along the way Trump pointed to fields that appeared to be dead and Nunez told Trump this is because of the water shortage. The crops Trump was looking at were wheat fields turning golden for harvest.  None of the northern water can be diverted to Fresno or Tulare counties because there are no canel links between the Westside to farms Trump was viewing.  Devin was feeding Trump a bunch of shit. I have known Devin for over 30 years.  When he got around Trump he changed.

Much of the released water will find it's way and help replenish the underground water so it all won't be wasted... but never the less it was stupid...

From the posted link:  "Unscheduled water releases require close coordination with local officials and safety personnel, as well as downstream agricultural water users, in order to reduce flood risks to communities and farms," Padilla wrote. "Based on the urgent concerns I have heard from my constituents, as well as recent reporting, it appears that gravely insufficient notification was given, recklessly endangering residents downstream."

It's just Trump being Trump.

"That water can't get to Los Angeles," Schiff continued. "The fires are out, they're not 5 percent contained, or 20 percent, or 50 percent contained. They're 100 percent contained. So, that water is going to be of no use to firefighters."

"The water is flowing in California," the president posted on Monday. "These once empty 'halfpipes' are now brimming with beautiful, clean water, and heading to farmers throughout the State, and to Los Angeles."

But experts and California lawmakers have called out Trump's statements as inaccurate, as water from the lakes in question does not usually reach Los Angeles, while also slamming the releases as reckless and wasteful in a dry winter.

"There isn't as much snowpack as we would usually have," Schiff said on Monday. "We rely on water that is stored like this water when farmers need it in summer to irrigate. They're not irrigating now. So, that water is going to sit in a lake, it's going to evaporate, it's going to be wasted."

Nunez is a putz.

My grandfather was on a valley irrigation board for over thirty years in the 50s-70s. He used to say, "Wars are fought over three things: Land, Religion, and Water."

Trump is so fucking uneducated about CA's complex water rights and issues I don't understand how the conservative farmers in the valley support this delusional narcissistic asshole.

I see now where Nunez is on a Trump Intel committee advising Trump.  Trump knows Devin is from the area so I bet I am right Devin told Trump to release the water... or if not he should have told Trump not to do it because the water would just flow out into the valley.  Someone should have the media find out who Trump was listening to.  Trump knows nothing about Calif so someone had to suggest to open those gates...

No it won't because I'll find a way to adapt instead of whining about it.

Just like lapdog hobbyist that have an ATF provider that keeps ripping them off financially. They stick with her because they love her. When it comes to emotions there is no logic.
