Here's a 2 minute video of Trump answering a question from the enemy of the people about whether there's anything he's told Musk he cannot touch. I truly wonder about the gullibility of anyone who can't see that Trump is just making this shit up as he goes. He just bullshits his way through as he's done his entire life:

U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued the preliminary injunction after 19 Democratic attorneys general sued President Donald Trump. The case, filed in federal court in New York City, alleges the Trump administration allowed Musk's team access to the Treasury Department's central payment system in violation of federal law.

Engelmayer, who was appointed by President Barack Obama, also said anyone prohibited from having access to the sensitive information since Jan. 20 must immediately destroy all copies of material downloaded from Treasury Department systems.

He set a hearing for Feb. 14.

If the judge rules against Trump, Trump will appeal. Musk is investigating fraud waste and abuse authorized by Trump.  So I doubt Musk did anything illegal.

It is interesting that one of the first places Elon and DOGE start dismantling is one that had Elon under investigation. Nope, no conflict of interest there...

"In 2022, USAID and Starlink collaborated to provide 5,000 Starlink terminals to Ukraine, to give the country fighting Russian invasion access to Musk's advanced internet system, operated through SpaceX, as reported by The Lever.

"In addition to another ongoing audit on direct budget support, we are examining USAID's Energy Security Project, USAID's oversight of Starlink Satellite Terminals provided to the Ukrainian government, and USAID's efforts to protect against sexual exploitation and abuse in Ukraine," Martin told Congress."

According to government data, the US spent $68bn (£55bn) on international aid in 2023.

That total is spread across several departments and agencies, but USAID's budget constitutes more than half of it at around $40bn - that's about 0.6% of total US annual government spending of $6.75tn.

So, to reiterate, to get rid of massive overspending by the government (per Trump the team's mandate), Musk decided to start with an organization that spends less than ONE HALF OF A PERCENT of the budget.

Which just happens to be investigating him

Trump is starting to cast doubt on the full faith and credit of the United States. From Reuters:

"We're even looking at Treasuries," Trump said. "There could be a problem - you've been reading about that, with Treasuries and that could be an interesting problem."

He added: "It could be that a lot of those things don't count. In other words, that some of that stuff that we're finding is very fraudulent, therefore maybe we have less debt than we thought."

What he means by this careless word salad is unknowable, because as usual it's incoherent. But that's how he operates as he's defrauding the country.

Trump is draining the swamp which apparently is the entire US government.....except for the oval office.

Then he's talking about a third term.  If he can ignore court orders why not ignore the Constitution to0?

On the "swamp," aka the "deep state," previously I was naive enough to believe that only meant certain bureaucrats who were perceived to be acting contrary to the president's wishes. But it's now clear that Team Trump has taken aim at a much wider swath.

Trump and Elon Musk and guys like Russell Vought who want to "crush the deep state" believe that anyone in any government agency with a history of exercising ANY degree of independence from the political leader must be replaced with loyalists who will do the leader's bidding.

Congress has been rendered moot as separate branch of government. They took out Matt Gaetz, but all of Trump's unqualified appointees since then are sailing through with no muss, no fuss from the cowardly Republicans.

A veteran House Democrat is introducing new legislation to respond to billionaire Trump ally Elon Musk's overhaul of the federal government: Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) on Wednesday rolled out the Eliminate Looting of Our Nation by Mitigating Unethical State Kleptocracy (ELON MUSK) Act, which would ban "special" government employees like Musk from having federal contracts.

"No government employee, 'Special' or not, should have any financial interest in who the government does business with," Pocan said. "Elon Musk is the poster child for this type of potential abuse. After more than $20 billion in federal contracts, there's no way Musk can be objective in what he's doing." Musk holds major federal contracts through his companies including SpaceX and Starlink.

Even before Elon Musk became an American citizen in 2002, he received significant government assistance. US taxpayers have invested billions in Elon Musk's enterprises through various subsidies, grants, and incentives. For instance, Tesla and SpaceX have received substantial government support over the years, including tax credits, loans, and contracts.

Has Musk ripped of the government?  I think Musk is perfect person to seek out the waste and fraud in our government.  I think Trump genuinely wants the fraud and waste of money to stop.  Musk is the richest person on the planet he doesn't need to gain anything for the job he is doing.  Democrats want him to stop and make up all sorts of bullshit because they want so the government can continue where they can fraud and waste money. Musk will have to file a report and it will be made public for all to see.  Trump or Musk have not hidden anything have been transparent.  I want to know how much fraud how much money and who is accountable for it.

Musk has many conflicts of interest. For example, he recently tweeted about the demise of the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau just hours after his team of recent high school graduates gained access to the agency. The CFBP website is now offline.

The executive branch doesn't have authority to shut down an agency created by Congress, but that's what's happening.

During a press event today from the Oval Office, Musk said he's being "maximally transparent" and that everything is on the DOGE.gov website. But if you got to that site, there's nothing but a minimalist landing page.

The obvious conflict lies in Musk's recent deal between his social media platform and Visa. The CFPB could have conducted oversight of Musk's consumer finance ventures, but not now.

But don't worry. Trump said today that he wouldn't have Musk doing this if Musk weren't so smart. Obviously, if he's smart, that means he can be trusted. LOL
