I am a veteran and I don't support giving free lunch jobs simply because the employee is a veteran.  If the job is needed then fill the job with the best qualified not because they are some war hero.  Democrats want to play the veteran card to make what Trump's overhaul of the federal government look bad.  I have been a patient in VA hospitals and I can tell you there are a lot of employees doing nothing and paid for doing nothing.  I think the VA will function much better once the weeds are pulled out and smart dedicated people are staffing the VA jobs.

You get that nobody just "gets" a job right? That they are interviewed just like everyone else?

Trump and Musk aren't overhauling the federal government. To do that, they'd have to know something about it.

How are the price of eggs? How about the rest of your groceries? Have you seen those tariffs bringing down prices, enriching your life directly? Do the countries who have them just give up when they were laid and start "paying their fair share"?

https://www.newsweek.com/trump-stock-market-update-recession-fears-economy-2043221

"While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Trump was asked about the current state of the stock market and said, "Our country had to do this. We had to go and do this. They've taken away, other countries have taken away our business, they've taken away our jobs. I did it initially very strongly against as you know China and some others in the first term."

Continuing, Trump said, "We had the greatest economy in the history of our country."

Do you think we currently have the greatest economy in the history of our country?

Yes we still have a strong economy despite what Trump is doing to even the trade imbalances. In a few months fair trade deals will be made and our economy will be stronger than ever... This what I believe and hope for.  Trump is surrounded by the best economy experts in the world who say this must be done to bring jobs back to the US.  Remember Ross Perol said if the US enters into a free trade agreement with Mexico our companies will head south across the border and American jobs will be lost.  He was right!  Yes I am nervous about the tariffs prices probably will shoot up in the short term.  But if Trump is right then prices should drop once trade deals are made and more manufacturing in the US and more jobs.

Funny, the world  (so other than Mexico, China and Canada) seem to be pretty solidly behind sticking it to Trump and applying their OWN tariffs to us: https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/13/almonds-whiskey-auto-parts-where-eu-tariffs-will-hit-hardest.html

https://www.reuters.com/markets/europe/eu-impose-counter-tariffs-over-28-billion-us-goods-2025-03-12/

Despite what MAGA thinks, we can not do without imported goods from other countries.

And I love "we'll just have to bear through it", when those who are saying that aren't the ones suffering the most from the tariffs driving prices up while Trump and Elon are systematically *destroying* the ways that the people could survive through it by shutting down food and social programs while Elon looking to cut Social Security...

Citibank revealed in a court filing Wednesday that it was told to freeze the groups' bank accounts at the FBI's request. The reason? The FBI alleges that the groups are involved in "possible criminal violations," including "conspiracy to defraud the United States."

"The FBI has told Citibank that recipients of EPA climate grants are being considered as potentially liable for fraud. That is, the Trump administration wants to criminalize work on climate science and impacts," the @capitolhunters account wrote Wednesday on X. "An incoming administration not only cancels federal grants but declares recipients as criminals. All these grantees applied under government calls FOR ENVIRONMENTAL WORK, were reviewed and accepted. Trump wants to jail them."
