Oh poor whinny baby crying that his legal problems stem from trying to interfere with his election. Trump is a criminal. Trump has been treated with kid gloves. Anybody else would be in jail.

If anything, the wimp Department of Justice has been going overboard with trying to not make things look political.

That's exactly right. Part of the problem is that every judge overseeing his multiple criminal cases knows there's no practical way of detaining Trump pending trial. (Every judge except Cannon, that is, since it has long been apparent that she is in the tank for Trump.)

They can issue gag orders, but he has proven he will not abide by them. And if he were detained pending trial for violating said orders, not only would that not shut him up, but he'd also be even more of a martyr to his cult members than he is already.
