This is exactly what I said the first time he was elected. The problem was that many on the left wouldn't take blame for their part in him getting elected. Then they elected President Biden, fucked shit up so bad that people realized it could get worse and did with President Biden and decided to vote this yahoo back in. The left learned nothing and now we're left with this putz for his final 4 years

My opinion is that 90% of our former presidents would have either run our nation into a major financial depression or put our soldiers on the ground in some war to (refocus) our country.  Biden did neither.

He righted our failing nation and will go down as one of our best Presidents leaving office with all economic signs going in the right direction (markets, unemployment, interest rates, inflation)

Too many listen to far right propaganda and forget how fucked up our country was 4 years ago and how much more stable and respected we are right now.   But, as I said, we all deserve what's coming.

Many didn't forget. That's why they overwhelmingly voted in a felon over any dingleberries from the last administration

Biden won 25 states, Washington DC, and secured the presidency with 306 out of 538 electoral votes in 2020. Trump flipped 6 states and won 31 states and secured the presidency with 312 electoral votes. With 95% of all votes counted, President Trump currently has 4 million more votes than Kamala Harris. President Biden had 7 million more votes than President Trump in 2020, 81.2 million vs 74.2 million. All 50 states shifted towards the right with more voters voting red in every state.

In terms of the economy, US gas prices per gallon have wavered between a national average of $1.84 and $4.99 since 2018. Americans saw the lowest annual average in 2020, when the average cost for a gallon of gas was $2.19. Fast-forward three years and gas is running an average of $3.33 so far in 2024.

In the United States, the Consumer Price Index or CPI measures changes in the prices paid by consumers for a basket of goods and services. In Dec 2016, the CPI was at 241.432. In Dec 2020, the CPI was at 260.474.  Today,  Dec 2024, the CPI currently sits at 316.44. So that means when President Obama left and when President Trump left, the difference in CPI was only about 19 points. The difference between President Trump and President Biden however, is 56 points.

In conclusion, no, the economy was not better under President Biden and him going down as one of the best Presidents ever is highly not going to happen.

You assume that the voters knew what they were doing, that they were fully informed and rational about the choices before them.

That assumption overlooks how naive many voters were about the extent of the character deficit in the winning candidate.

Gotta love people who blame the left for getting him elected.

Sorry, they voted for someone else. The ONLY people responsible for his being elected were those who chose his name on the ballot. You can say that the left's policies blah blah blah, but people who did not have Trump as their choice can't be blamed above those who did...

They voted Trump in because they disengaged their brains and forgot (yet again) that all he does is lie:

You assume people voted were stupid and uninformed and made decisions not knowing what they were doing. One usually thinks this of others because that is how they are

And that's why Democrats lost the election. But they'll never learn because as you said, they've disconnected their brains and believed in all the lies their leaders told them. It must be a blessing to be told what to say and think and not have to take responsibility for your own actions and fuckups in life. "It's Trump's fault I'm sad and lonely.  It's Trump's fault my family hates me. It's Trump's fault President Biden has dementia. It's Trump's fault Kamala Harris lost the election"

This past election was a mandate by Americans that things got worse in the past four years, everything got more expensive...not just gas. My car and home insurance jumped 40%, whereas in the past it would only go up 3% a year.

Congress will be controlled by Republicans and the President will be a Republican. Not only did Trump win the electoral vote but also the popular vote as well, something he didn't do in 2020.

Riddle me this...  Did the humongous tax cuts for the ultra wealthy and big business that dumped billions of dollars into our economy fuel the rise in inflation? Most economists will answer this yes.  Who was president when this happened?  Who got us out of the mess?   Who will do this again?   And then the big question, who will have to clean up this mess again?

Covid caused  the high inflation. Other countries suffered high inflation where no money was dumped into their economy.  Covid caused massive shortage in supply across the board.  Millions laid off.

Nice try, but the alternative to attributing Trump's victory to people's inability to sort through a sea of lies and misinformation is to assume they are as depraved as Trump. I don't believe that.

Besides, we know voters on both sides can be irrational. A current example is that they blame inflation on whoever was in office when it happened, ignoring that such economic impacts almost always result from events outside a president's control.
