There's a difference between Medi-Cal and Covered California, Medi-Cal is free and Covered California offers insurance plans. They will be offering free Medi-Cal to undocumented residents.

I ignore ignorant statements.  Free healthcare and affordable healthcare are two different things, something mentioned a few times above and ignored by you and both are neither of which I am illegible for.  If we are going to give out free healthcare, why not give it out to everyone?  Or are you against free healthcare for all?

I agree but I would prefer it be expanded to include all.  There are many people who make too much to be able to get good healthcare.  Anyone single making $40k (a little under $20/hr) a year is eligible for a $110 a month plan that covers 60% of most costs with a $35.  It might sound great until you realize it barely covers anything.  Doctor's visits are $65 a visit.  There is a $500 deductible for prescriptions for single patients; $1000 for families.  Once the deductible is paid off for the year then the plan kicks in the pay the rest.  Seeing a specialist costs $95 a visit.  Any other basically covers only 60% with the rest being on you to pay.  No out of network coverage.  Most anyone making under $20k is eligible for medicare.  That gives better coverage and all free.  No out of pocket costs.

You are still deliberately getting it wrong/willfully misstating things. They are getting access to Covered California, which yes, is subsidized, but then again, this is available to any Californian https://www.coveredca.com/california-subsidy/, not just undocumented immigrants.

Now, if you want to be making whatever it is you make and THEN still get low-cost health care, that's a different conversation and has nothing directly to do with immigrants like you tried to link this to. ANY Californian who is low-income has exactly the same access to low-cost health care. Trying to link this to JUST immigrants is disingenuous. And before you try to pretzel this, the title of the thread and comments like "just want free healthcare like undocumented immigrants"

Having to pay on a sliding scale depending on what you make is nothing new, nothing unique to either Newsom, California or its health care system.

I think a majority of California wastes money on the high-speed train to state bankruptcy. Just think what that money for the high-speed rail could have done for schools, communities, the homeless... and the price tag for the train keeps getting bigger and bigger.
