supposedly live speech that was clearly prerecorded because the Biden team couldn't risk the old bumbling fool making even more mistakes reading the teleprompter

Two weeks ago y'all were saying Biden was healthy and full of vigor, now all of y'all have forgotten him.

I want to know who is running the White House now, is it Kamala?
I don't think anyone who watched the debate last month came away thinking he was "full of vigor." He looked and sounded awful.

I also don't know where anyone would get the idea that he's been "forgotten." But anyone with a pulse knows he's not running for re-election anymore, and that naturally pushes him off to the side just a bit when we're three months away from the election.

As for the question about who's running the White House, give it a rest. For several years, right-wingers have been saying that, behind the scenes, Biden must be staring off into space while the real decision-makers cover for his precipitous cognitive decline. There's no evidence for this bullshit, and it makes right-wingers sound even stupider than they apparently are.

they're just pissed the old guy got them to do what he wanted to do, and the country is better for it.

LOL
Biden is a puppet. Never ran anything and was forced out.
Now we have Kamala the new puppeteer. Kamala was the worse. 92% turnover on her staff states a lot as well.
Now all the sudden Kamala is the best and erasing all the bad stuff trying to make her look good..

I love it when conservatives pull out the turnover rate for Harris!

The list goes on and on.

Oh, and her office turnover sucks, not gonna lie. Of course, THREE QUARTERS of The Convict's staff left during his term in office, so no real high horse there...

It's going to be funny watching you guys try to highlight Harris's imperfections. Your guy is a convicted felon, exchanged love letters with a ruthless dictator, and has said he'd like to "date" his own daughter. And that's barely scratching the surface.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/no-kings-act-schumer-advances-biden-scotus-overhaul-bill-strip-trumps-immunity?

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., took the first step to advance President Biden's Supreme Court overhaul plan, beginning with a measure to strip immunity from former President Trump after last month's ruling in his favor.

The "No Kings Act" would "clarify" that the Constitution does not entitle presidents to immunity from criminal prosecution for their actions in office, despite the ruling of the high court.

In a statement, Schumer reiterated that the Supreme Court's ruling granting former presidents significant immunity for official acts done while in office is "dangerous and devastating."

"The MAGA Supreme Court has once again subverted the will of the American people, and the very idea of democracy itself," he added.

"The Founders were explicit – no man in America shall be a king. Yet, in their disastrous decision, the Supreme Court threw out centuries of precedent and anointed Trump and subsequent presidents as kings above the law. Given the dangerous and consequential implications of the Court's ruling, legislation would be the fastest and most efficient method to correcting the grave precedent the Trump ruling presented. With this glaring and partisan overreach, Congress has an obligation – and a constitutional authority – to act as a check and balance to the judicial branch."

What will be interesting is watching conservatives trying to claim liberal bias in reporting from a Faux News link :)

Quote from: bats on Jul 30, 2024, 12:34 AMIt was in an op-ed published Monday in the Washington Post. Simply, Biden is calling for a constitutional amendment that would make clear that no President is above the law or immune from prosecution for crimes committed while in office.

This makes complete sense and would be entirely unnecessary if not for the decision by our very corrupt Supreme Court to let Trump off the hook for virtually all of his criminality.

Unfortunately, because constitutional amendments are a bitch to get passed (as they should be), he can't practically tack on a reform to the Citizen's United decision or a restoration of Roe v. Wade.

Using Trump again lol.
This ruling was in general, pertains to many Government officials. It could save ChinaBiden, Obama, Clinton and others as well....

It was framed as a ruling applicable to any former president, that's true. That's how SCOTUS does its business.

But your first clue that it was all about Trump, besides the case title, is this sentence in the body of the decision:

This case is the first criminal prosecution in our Nation's history of a former President for actions taken during his Presidency.

And that's because no other former president has been so anti-American that they abused the power of their office to the point of being criminally charged for his actions.

Gee, I wonder what Biden has been doing?

https://www.comicsands.com/mace-biden-mia-prisoner-swap-2668865268.html?

South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace faced harsh criticism for claiming President Joe Biden was "missing in action" on the same day he, following months of painstaking negotiations, announced a prisoner swap securing the release of three Americans held in Russia.

On Thursday, Biden revealed that Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, and Russian-American journalist Alsu Kurmasheva were freed, along with U.S. green card holder Vladimir Kara-Murza.

Several things are apparent from this 3-minute clip from yesterday:

  • Yes, Biden has trouble speaking. It's a natural consequence of his stutter and his age-related memory impairment. It was enough to get him off the Democratic ticket because, hey, candidates have to be able to speak effectively.
  • Biden has no trouble understanding questions from the press when his hearing (also impaired from age) allows it. In the clip, his responses were quick and to the point, even if he had a little trouble expressing himself.
  • Biden, like many of our elderly relatives and friends, is still sharp despite how it might appear. We could learn something from Biden about not being too quick to judge the wit of an old person by the way they might appear.
