Quote from: HighStepper on Yesterday at 05:40 PMU.S. total goods trade with Canada were an estimated $762.1 billion in 2024.
U.S. goods exports to Canada in 2024 were $349.4 billion.
U.S. goods imports from Canada in 2024 totaled $412.7 billion.
349.4 + 412.7 = 762.1

Blkfyre only had to read 1-2 more sentences in his link and he would have seen his claim is incorrect.

Quote from: Bande on Yesterday at 03:23 PMHell you all ready see some manufacturing jobs coming Back to the States,

Yes they are BUT what matters more, keeping American jobs or the (very likely) increased price for those products?  Most people, over and over and over, vote with their pocketbook.  So if an American product costs more.....and people refuse to buy it.....how does that help America?  We already went through that, which is why so many things are no longer made in America.

Stock market has lost over $6 TRILLION in less than a week. And they are offering people the chance to retire while they watch their life savings disappear.
Meanwhile, Musk gave Trump $100 million for a Tesla commercial yesterday.

Most paper produce are made in the usa, but the eucalyptus pulp to make them comes from Canada. The Oil refiners in the midwest get sand tar oil from Canada, that is the only kind of oil those refineries can process.
Canada can turn off the electricity to NY, MICH, MINN.. Trump asked the other day who made that stupid deal? It was him in 2018. lol

Quote from: Hobby on Today at 04:43 PMYes we still have a strong economy despite what Trump is doing to even the trade imbalances. In a few months fair trade deals will be made and our economy will be stronger than ever... This what I believe and hope for.  Trump is surrounded by the best economy experts in the world who say this must be done to bring jobs back to the US.  Remember Ross Perol said if the US enters into a free trade agreement with Mexico our companies will head south across the border and American jobs will be lost.  He was right!  Yes I am nervous about the tariffs prices probably will shoot up in the short term.  But if Trump is right then prices should drop once trade deals are made and more manufacturing in the US and more jobs.
Problem is Trump doesn't know what he is doing. Putting tariffs on things we don't make in America and tariffs on raw materials we don't have makes no sense.
